Animated backgrounds not working anymore (with VTTES)

Hello everyone, So here it is, I'm a GM and I use animated battlemaps for my campaign (with VTT Enhancement suite since Roll20 doesn't support this feature). Yesterday, when I logged in before my session to make my last minute adjustments, I discovered that all my animated maps were unable to load. I tried many things, but couldn't get them working, and had to do the session with whatever I had on hands.  The reason of this post is that I wanted to ask if anybody else had the same kind of trouble. It worked perfectly during my last session, a few weeks ago (winter holidays made it so that I cannot actually tell when it stopped working). I have tried every possible way that I could find to fix this, but none worked. I know that VTTES is a third party, so I don't expect support from Roll20, but I must say that I'm pretty aggravated by this.  Therefore : is anybody experiencing the same trouble as I do ? On a side note, I must say that I have trouble understanding that Roll20 still doesn't include this feature natively. Having a video instead of a picture doesn't sound to me  like a feature that would need that much more work from the devs team. I'm a long time paying customer, and honestly I'm getting tired of having to struggle that hard for something that simple. As a GM, I enjoy creative work, not tech work . The 10 bucks a month that I send towards Roll20 should take care of that lastest part. Best regards, Montecristo

Hi Montecristo! Have you checked the VTTES Discord to see if others have made the same report?

You say this: "with VTT Enhancement suite since Roll20 doesn't support this feature " These forums are for things that roll20 does support. You'll need help from the VTTES community to figure this one out.

IDK but Roll20 has announced Project Jumpgate, the next version of the Tech that runs roll20, and they have said that Jumpgate should offer better support for Animated Maps and animated objects, when it comes out in the (near) future.  Something to look forward to

This happened to me as well. I was (and still am) using Google Drive to store all of my video streams, but nothing I tried worked. I had to reupload all my files to Dropbox and started troubleshooting from there. I found that my Dropbox video links worked if I replaced everything after the final "&" in the link with "raw=1"  Hope this helps!
I am having the same issue. Was unable to solve the problem with google drive. Anyone else able to get it to work?

Jamie, you're a genius ! Finally my maps are showing. It might have to do with the hosting by Google Drive indeed, thought it worked before. It's annoying that I'll have to rehost all of my animated maps and I'm not sure about how long this dropbox solution will work, but for now it does.  Also, thanks everyone for your replies. If anyone else get the same problem I'd advise to try Jamie's Dropbox solution (with the modification of the URL, otherwise it doesn't work). Beside that, I certainly hope that Roll20 introduce this feature soon. Best regards, Montecristo
