Is there a program or website to make letters and notes on parchment style paper?

I've come up short with my google searches.

I use Inkscape for all my line work and lettering.

Did tis ten seconds, found the parchment on Google or possible WOTC site, then when you want to use it on roll 20, just make it the picture in a handout. The text xection can then have the obligatory "This note was just delivered to you by a brown shoed square in brown paper bag in the dead of night, there is also $20,000 dollars in the bag and a Colt Combat commander with the serial number filed off..." or whatever.

I haven't seen a "parchment note generator" or meme yet. That would be a handy simple tool though. My suggestion is use Photobucket. It's a photo storage website that has a built-in photo editor, that's free, and another upside is: Once you are finished editing the parchment, the compressed image will be saved on your Photobucket account, which makes it easy to find again, or to get it into Roll20 from there is not hard. Do as Al suggested and find the Parchment background that you like on the web... Take that background into your Photobucket... and go to its photo editing section to add words.

As an alternative you can probably create your own "parchament note generator" pretty easily. Open it up in your browser and (assuming you had the same fonts as me and the old_parchment_4.jpg in the same directory) you will get a nice parchment (I would include an image but something in the forums is preventing me at the moment). Screen capture the image and trim it in the graphics program of your choice. Obviously you will have to change things such as the file being used and the fonts and you will want to tweak various settings such as font-size and indent (and I didn't even worry about text-align) but once you're set up you will be able to change the text you are using and generate new parchments very quickly.
