Adding Archived Characters to Map

Apologies if this topic has been addressed elsewhere; I didn't see it being asked after a cursory search. Does anyone know of a means by which Archived character tokens can easily be added to a map? I have been using handouts to link to archived handouts and characters to help reduce journal clutter, but this can make it difficult to add NPC tokens to maps on the fly. Currently, I have to briefly restore them to the journal, add them to a map, and then archive them again later. Is there a known workaround, or is this just an inherent downside to using the archive trick? Thanks ahead of time!

That's just part of archiving and part of the purpose of archiving. A workaround you could do as a change to your process is to create a "tokens" page and drop a token of the character onto that page when you make it (or when you archive it). Then you'd have a place to copy/paste from without having to unarchive.
