Cannot edit permissions on the D&D 5th Edition Character sheets when a character is imported.

The sheet is not allowing me to control which of my players can control and see it.

Repro Steps
1) Create a character in a game as a player/one account.
2) Using character Vault or Transmogrifier, move that character to a second game where you are the GM and a different account from the first step.
3) Press the "Edit" button at the top of said character sheet.
4) Attempt to change the settings of "In Players Journals" and "Can be Edited and controlled by"

Result: Roll20 will not let you change permissions on the character sheet and gives you the error, "You cannot remove a character's owner from "Can Be Edited and Controlled By" or from "In Player's Journal."
Expected: As the DM/GM of the game, I need the ability to be able to control permissions on any character I bring into the game.

Note: This bug is most likely fairly recent since I use Roll20 every day for my business.

Hi DM Raven,

This is a bug related to the new Characters website feature (formerly Character Vault).

I suggest filing a bug report with the Devs via the Help Center as the bug report forum is primarily for users helping users.

Please include the method(s) you used to move the character into a game.

Note: I see you said Vault, but did you use Characters (formerly Character Vault) or the Character Vault? They are two different systems.
If you did use Characters, I suggest trying to move the character via the Character Vault instead. It may not have the same problem.

The workaround I found is to make the character yourself (Use the add character button) and then just assign it to your players rather than have them press the "add character" button.  But as the DM, I'd expect to be able to edit and/or delete any characters in your roll20 game.

Yup, I can confirm that a player adding a character to a game via "Add Character" button prevents you from changing ownership of that character.

You can disable players from making their own characters in a game by going to Roll20.net, Settings, Game Settings, and disabling the "Allow players to create their own Characters?" setting. Then save.

Hey DM Raven,

Sorry about that, this is a bug that we are currently working on. We hope to have a fix soon.

The expected result is like you said. If you transmogrify or Vault transfer a character to a new game (created a copy and severed the link to the old character), then you should be able to change edit/control permissions.

I'll let you know when we have a fix.
