Eligibility Criteria:  Only characters of 5th level or higher built within D&D Beyond and invited to the Delving for Glory campaign are considered. Players are expected to be able to communicate proficiently in English, use D&D beyond and integrate it with Roll 20 using the Beyond20 extension for their browser Further all sessions will be conducted using the built in video and audio features of Roll20. Players may not opt out of video or audio. Thus all contestants will need an account for both D&D Beyond and Roll20 to participate. You do not need a paid subscription however the expectation is that the player is proficient in using both tools. The DM will not handhold people on use of the tools, and time spent trying to figure them out during game counts against the allotted time for your run. Equipment can be purchased from any of the source books, but magic items are restricted to common and uncommon rarities. Note: ammo and rations/water will be tracked, so stock up! A bedroll is required if you wish to take a long rest in the dungeon. Reminder that Variant Encumbrance rules are in effect.  Level the character up to 5th. You can start at a higher level (up to lvl 10), but you will still start on level 1 of the dungeon and experience is only awarded if your character level is less than 3 levels above the recommended character level for that floor of the dungeon and specified in the following table. (i.e. only characters of 5th - 7th level would receive XP on level 1.) Level Name Character Level 1 Dungeon Level 5th 2 Arcane Chambers 6th 3 Sargauth Level 7th   Skullport 7th 4 Twisted Caverns 8th 5 Wyllowwood 8th 6 Lost Level 9th 7 Maddgoth’s Castle 9th 8 Slitherswamp 10th 9 Dweomercore 10th 10 Muiral’s Gauntlet 11th 11 Troglodyte Warrens 11th 12 Maze Level 12th 13 Trobriand’s Graveyard 12th 14 Arcturiadoom 13th 15 Obstacle Course 13th 16 Crystal Labyrinth 14th 17 Seadeeps 14th 18 Vanrakdoom 15th 19 Caverns of Ooze 15th 20 Runestone Caverns 16th 21 Terminus Level 16th 22 Shadowdusk Hold 17th 23 Mad Wizard’s Lair 17th – 20th How to Enter: To enter you must have at least 2 players and a maximum of 6 players committed to a strictly timed 4 hour session on your team. Only one member of your team will fill out the application in the Roll20 applications section for the campaign.  Once an application is accepted all players will be invited to the campaign on D&D Beyond in order to build their characters. Important notes: Only one character per player is allowed. If at your allotted session time any of your team's players are absent, the session start will not be delayed. Runs will be conducted with the present players as long as there are 2 of them in which case the session is forfeited. Or the present team can elect to forfeit the session if they wish.  If a team forfeits a session they may not schedule another until the following month.   Prize Details: Sessions or delves are scored and a running total is maintained on the Honor Roll/Leader Board. Only the score of a team's last delve is counted for ranking. So if a second delve scores lower than the first, the team could drop in rankings. At the end of each calendar month, the top three teams on the leaderboard will be awarded prizes as follows:  1st: Each character on the team is presented a ring that will prevent real character death post delve (i.e. makes the character resistant to the psychic damage from dying within the simulation) and functions as a ring of resistance (psychic) with the simulation, a free camp kit (allows one long rest with no possibility of wandering monsters), Entry into the hall of heroes. 2nd: Each character on the team is is presented a ring that will prevent real character death post delve (i.e. makes the character resistant to the psychic damage from dying within the simulation) but has no other use, a free camp kit (allows one long rest with no possibility of wandering monsters) 3rd:   Each character on the team is  is presented a single use elixir that if applied pre-delve will prevent real character death post delve (i.e. makes the character resistant to the psychic damage from dying within the simulation), a free camp kit (allows one long rest with no possibility of wandering monsters) Judging Criteria: Delving sessions have a 4 hour limit in real world time, though time passes differently in the simulation allowing parties to take rests, but like any dungeon, resting inside the simulation carries the danger of wandering monsters and the like.   When teams emerge from the simulation they are awarded a score as follows. Score = (Deepest level reached / Total of Party levels) x (gold value collected + XP earned) - 100 points* level of the dungeon the death occurred on, per level of each character that perishes inside. This death penalty is assessed regardless of if the character is subsequently raised back to life in the simulation. For example, a party of 4 level 5 characters explore the first level and one dies during the session. They collect 2500 gold and earned 8000 XP though one character died for a loss of 100 (level 1*100) points per level of the perished character (500). Their final score would be (1/20)x(2400+8000-500) = 495 points as their final score for the delve  If all characters die, no points are awarded for that session.  Another example: a party of 5 level 11 characters explores the 10th level of the dungeon and two of the characters die (level 10 of dungeon *100) * character levels for perished characters. They collected 10,000 gold value and 15,000 xp Their final score would be (10/55)x(10000+15000-22000) = 545 points. During the delve all rulings by the DM may be contested, but the DM's decision is final. Objecting to such rulings do not stop the clock.
