Creating Token Copies

Ok, I've had this issue since I started using this site in 2014 and I still can't figure it out today. How do I make copies of tokens for NPCs with each of them having their own unique HP pool and so forth? Like, every time I create several of the same enemy for a single map, they all lose HP or whatever other resource if one them does when I try to use tracker bars. There has to be a way to get around that, right?

A short answer is, after creating the token on the Page, now doubleclick the token and UNLINK it from the Character. Set the Represents Character: to NONE. Then select and Copy that token, and Paste as many copies as you want.  There is a more detailed step-by-step process written elsewhere on the forums where this has been asked many times before, if this isn't quite clear enough

Really appreciate your help.

Gold, I do not recommend that. That unlinks the token from the character which is useful for other reasons such as macros.  Instead unlink the Attribute on the bar. Ryan, Here are the instructions for unlinking the Bar so that it does not change other tokens.    1. Select the token and Click the cog on the token.  2. Click the Attribute on the HP bar, set it to None. Note: in the future when you set up tokens you should set the HP bar attribute to the desired attribute, let it populate the boxes, then set it to None. 3. Click Open Character Sheet.  4. Click Save Settings.  5. Click Edit on the Character Sheet 6. Click Use Selected Token.  7. Save Changes.  Now you drag/drop new copies of each token to the board and they will not duplicate HP changes when you change one.

Good point Gauss, I can see how that would be better. And equally easy.

Ryan, This is pure gold. I unlinked the character sheet for ages. I never once had the idea to unlink just the hitpoints. Great! Thank you!

There really should be a tool hint or other indicator for this. It is a very common stumbling block for new players. Although the video is somewhat outdated, here are some links to the process: Here is the wiki article on  Linking Tokens to Journals Here is a  video  which demonstrates the procedure

Thanks for the advice :)
