How to upload the image in the chat?

February 23 (1 year ago)

I always use the [name](link) to upload the image in the chat, but now it doesn't works. When I use it, it comes with pink font [name] and I must click it to show that image. I really want to fix it. I want to show the clear png image in the chat, not in the new page. Please help me.

Hi 너구리!

Can you post the url to the image, exactly as entered in the link? In fact, the whole [name](link) text would be handy to figure out what's going on. You can PM it to me if necessary.

Update:

If this image is hosted on Discord, be aware that Discord has recently cracked down on external linking to images in order to combat malware. You can find more information here and here.

Oh, I got it. Thank you. If I use the roll20 uploaded image, then how to do that? How to get the link of the image that upload in the roll20 gallery?

Place the image on the map area and select it.

Press the Z key to see the preview

right-click on the preview and copy the url.

When using the image url, you will likely see a string of numbers at the end. Delete everything after the ".png". So:

https://files.d20.io/images/377199146/d6Q87lr5J8aoNhUuA5ECUA/original.png?17062276525

becomes

You can also use an image hosting service like Imgur. I do this, and have even found a browser extension that will allow me to right click on any web image, send a copy to my imgur account and put the url in my clipboard. Very handy.
