Subject: Issue with Copy-Paste Functionality on Roll20 (Images)

Hello,

I am writing to inform you about an issue I have encountered with your platform, Roll20. Recently, I have noticed a malfunction with the copy-paste functionality for images sourced from external platforms, particularly Discord.

This functionality is crucial for me and other Roll20 users, as it allows us to format our character and NPC sheets efficiently and conveniently, without the need to individually download and upload each image to the platform. However, since the implementation of a new code standard, this functionality appears to be not working correctly.

This issue has a significant impact on my user experience with Roll20, as well as that of many other users facing the same situation. It makes managing and creating our role-playing game campaigns difficult and compromises the quality and smoothness of our sessions.

I understand that updates and code changes are necessary to improve the platform, but I would like to know if this issue is temporary or if it is a permanent change. Additionally, I would appreciate it if you could consider the importance of this functionality to users and find a quick and effective solution to this problem.

Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter, and I am available to provide any further information you may require.

Best regards,

Hey folks,

Thanks for bringing this issue forward. First I want to mention that while we have been working on those improvements to Roll20 directly, we have not made any changes to image hosting or connections that would have impacted this functionality.

The likely cause for this is continued efforts by Discord to combat malware and the sharing of images on Discord to outside areas of the web.

The result of this is that many of the images that previously used Discord's Content Delivery Network (CDN) to be embedded or share will no longer function as they used to or potentially at all. The workaround for this is to ensure that the images you use images are not hosted on Discord and to use a dedicated image hosting service or directly upload to Roll20.

Thank you for your reply.
