As a part of this whole shebang, I’ll be running the beginner’s box module: Menace Under Otari. The local fishery is having issues with something breaking into the basement and absconding with their preserved fish! The owner has called on you to get to the bottom of this and set things right! If you’ve never played Pathfinder 2e before, it’s a great opportunity to try it out without committing to a long-term campaign. I normally write all my own campaigns, but this module does an AMAZING job of teaching you how to play (and the story isn’t half bad either). It’s a short little dungeon crawl, a little bit of role play, and some puzzles (because what dungeon worth its salt doesn’t have some puzzles?). And if you’re on Paizo’s mailing list you should have received a $10 credit voucher to Startplaying.games to cover it! The module comes with 4 pregenerated characters (wizard, fighter, rogue, cleric). If you want to play a different class and look at the options, please just reach out ahead of time so that we’re ready to roll when we get to game time. Because it’s essentially a one-shot kind of situation, we’ll be skipping the standard session 0 I do with players. If there’s something you’re concerned about, please let me know so that I can put it in the social contract (i.e. session 0-ish document) ahead of time. If you’ve got triggering things that you’re potentially concerned about, just let me know ahead of time so that I can account for it as we go through the module. I run a completely friendly table that is inclusive to all and probably a little on the goofy side. If you’re looking for a different kind of table, that’s totally fine. It’s just not my table. Even if you’re an experienced DM/GM with other systems (5e, CoC, etc.), sometimes it’s nice to branch out to try other systems so that when you inevitably come up to a situation your system of choice doesn’t really do, you have something in your back pocket to make it flow the way it should to tell the story. DM info: I'm the kind of GM with the primary goal of everyone having a good time. I run character focused and narrative driven stories, and LOVE working with my players to see what kind of hijinks they can get up to. I write most of the adventures and all of the overall campaigns I run so that they can really focus on my players' characters. If you're a new player who wants to experience what a homebrew world can be, or even a grizzled veteran who wants to get away from the typical canned campaign, I'm the DM for you! Collaborative Storytelling: The idea is to tell a story in which everyone contributes. I consider myself a “yes, and” or “no, but” kind of guy. The idea is for everyone to have fun telling a collaborative story, and I’m going to do everything I can to help you do your thing. Player Agency: It is extremely important. The PC's are the main characters, which means your decisions MATTER in terms of what happens in the world and how NPC's view you. I'm not going to force you down a path. This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of $10/session via Startplaying.games. Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements.
