********DISCORD AND A MIC IS REQUIRED ******************** Long ago Earth was burned away by the sun. Humans escaped traveling faster than the speed of light deep into space with gravity drive engines. A century of exploration and travel left humans scattered vastly apart in space in colony ships, asteroid field mining colonies and a few naturally habitable planets. Massive projects fitted arrays of satellites with gravity generators to move and terraform hundreds of planets so they could sustain life. But wars were fought over control of these new planets, and billions more died before a group of planets with the most money and industrial power formed an alliance and ruthlessly bought and killed their way to universal domination. This group, known as the Federal Alliance of Planets (F.A.P.) then declared all of space and every human in the universe under their authority. Some resisting settlements were wiped clear of life with terminator robots, other planets were entirely destroyed with massive star destroyers. The Independence Movement Militias (I.M.M.) also known as rebels or browns for the color of their uniforms, still tried and fought a futile war against the F.A.P.O.s (Federal Alliance of the Planets Officials) and lost. What is left of the IMM movement hides deep in space or underground, conducting gorilla attacks, stealing weapons, pirating commercial goods owned by FAPO supported corporations, and using the money to finance sabotaging FAPO installations and assassinating FAPO corrupt politicians and war criminals. For the good citizens that obey the FAPO, their life is endless taxation and mostly working just to earn some fake food, air and water, and is not far from slavery. But a few still hold on to the dream that if they can just get a chance to break out into deep space they can build a new life for themselves. Intolerance of the law or even speaking out against FAPO politicians might get you “randomly” drafted for settlement at a toxic slave mine or internment at a factory gulag work camp. Some revolutionaries promise change but are just as willing to steal from and kill innocent people to support their cause as the government is. There is a lot of space out there and running might be the best option before you get tied down to money, love or ideals. The planets of deep space are hungry for goods. If you can get a ship you can make decent coin, but rights to trade might be owned by local gangs with bribes to be paid and space pirates might take your ship and sell you into slavery. Lots of people never take to settling down on land and live a life free floating deep in the stars. These drift stations need goods and sometimes some protection if you are good in a fight. Food might buy you friends, drugs might buy you sex, money might buy you love, and guns are the only thing that buys you freedom. The loyalty of your crew might be the only thing on your ship that doesn’t break, but sometimes you have to do things you don't want to keep your ship flying. ---------------------------------------------- Hi I am JeffreyJames I have been a tabletop gm for 7 years and on roll20 for 3 years. I am not a first time GM and the game is all set up to play. I run 2 different themed games (space and fantasy) with my own RPG system called "firewinds" . "Firewinds of the Suns" is a space-western game with a story like firefly, starwars, cowboy bebop, and cyberpunk edgerunners. FIREWINDS is a simple RPG system that allows for lots of role-play creativity and character development. THERE ARE NO CLASSES OR RACES, you can pick the skill you want without restrictions. Use a quick worksheet to pick the skills you want to make a character in about 5 mins. The Roll20 Buttons are already written for you to click so you don't have to type in rolls when you play. THIS IS NOT DND 5E It's designed to be easy to learn and FAIR for players. Rules to the game system are on the firewindsofthesuns.com website. THE MAGIC SYSTEM AND SPELLS ARE DIFFERENT THAN DND 5E and EVERYONE CAN USE MAGIC. You have to "Roll-to-Cast" with your Religion-Magic skill. Spells can work better the higher you roll or not at all if you roll poorly. You can use basic easy magic to help defend yourself, heal yourself, or make your attacks do more damage. You can add points to your magic skill and cast more times per day and collect magic items that add points to your magic rolls so you can more easily cast harder spells. Everyone has the same targeted AC system where damage literally could cost you an arm and a leg and anyone can use armor that lessens the damage you take. THIS IS A PLAY WHEN YOU CAN DISCORD SERVER - it is OK to JOIN LATE - or - LEAVE EARLY - or - MISS SESSIONS. We play about 2-5 times a week or whenever we can. This is not just a dungeon grind, And is not a west marches game. There is a story and goals for players to work for. When you leave early or don't show up your character will walk away or rejoin the party later when you can play, but the story will always go on with or without you. We don't cancel just because someone can't make it and we want everyone to be able to play even if they can't make every session. Some people play for an hour, some play all night, some play multiple days per week, and some show up every few months. Experience points are handed out each session even if you have to leave early, and loot is divided by the GM for the players so there is no fighting over it. I record and then animate my games on youtube. No pictures or real names of the players are used, no video camera is needed. Here is one of my latest videos https://youtu.be/EZcEvUuxH2o DA RULES 1. HEROS ONLY - DON'T BE A MURDER RAPIST HOBO, no evil characters. 2. Sex scenes are just cut scenes like PG13 tv. 3. Be 18+ or act like you are 18+, and act like you are 18+ if you are 18+. We use foul language and don't give a F***. 4. BE CREATIVE - Have a suggestion for a pronounceable character name, if it sucks or it's hard to say I will pick a name for you. Have a BRIEF backstory about why your character hates the Federal Alliance of Planets. That means a paragraph or two, not 4 pages, not one line either. Have dreams and goals for your character and likes and dislikes. Have an image ready for your token that looks space western. No furries, no pokemon. 5. Do start roleplay with other players, not just the GM. Talk in and out of character like you give a F*** about the story and what's happening in the game. Improvise and pretend you care about the other players even if you just met. 6 .BE NICE and care about your teammates. Role playing among friends is better than random strangers who don't know or care about each other. We are here to have fun and help each other have fun. We play to be social and make friends. If you're not a nice person who wants to make friends and hang out with others and help each other succeed, you're probably not going to fit in. If you want to bond and fight for glory with fantasy friends to save the universe, come join us. 7. We support diversity and welcome everyone regardless of race or sexual preference, but we are not going to treat you special for any reason. If you are triggered or offended by anything see rule #3. 8. Be Serious about playing - pay attention and be ready for your turn. 9. IF YOU HAVE A DISABILITY AND CAN'T TALK OR CLICK THE BUTTONS LET US KNOW AND WE WILL ACCOMMODATE YOU. Discord with a mic is required unless you are cognitively impaired. 10. Today's first time players are tomorrow's pro roleplayers, so we love helping new players get started in roleplaying, and we are glad to guide you through making a character and helping you make rolls. But you do need a certain level of intelligence to be able to edit your character sheet and keep notes on your items, and to be able to do basic addition and subtraction to keep track of your damage (like 20-5 = ? ). If you are just f-ing stupid or too high on drugs to play, we will boot you so you don't ruin the game for others. DM me if you want an invite to the game
