Howdy, fellow nerds.  Much as I love being a dungeon master, I don’t have the time to run multiple games with other obligations and how extensive the work already is for my current homebrew campaign, so I’m interested in hopping into another game as a player to get a little time on the other side of the DM screen.  I have extensive experience in D&D 5e, am very familiar with the rules, and have access to most of the sourcebooks on a D&D Beyond master tier subscription, so it’s super easy for me to look something up when clarification is needed. I will more than likely be using D&D Beyond to manage my character sheet, because it’s just so dang convenient, and am happy to enable content sharing there for everyone’s use if I join a game. What I want in a game:  I love high fantasy, I love magic, and I LOVE story! While I love combat, dungeon crawls, puzzles, and all that good crunchy stuff, the narrative elements of D&D have always been the most important to me. The experience of communal storytelling with a group of good people rolling dice is unparalleled when the whole group is committed to role play, character-building, and world-immersion and I believe the responsibility for that is both on the DM  and  the players. I want to explore the player characters. I want their backstories, their goals, their connections, their relationships, and their choices to be heavily featured in a campaign and I want it all to  matter.  I’m a big proponent for personal PC narratives being either the focal points of story arcs or at least being creatively interwoven with whatever plans the DM has for the world at-large.  What I bring to the game: Commitment! I’m a dungeon master first and foremost, with a penchant for story, so you can be confident that I will commit to role play (and probably even do a voice), that I’ll be interested in your world and it’s characters, and that I’ll do what I can to give the investment and enthusiasm that a healthy table needs and a DM craves from their players.  I want my character to fit into your world, so I’m more than happy to discuss ideas and options and to make changes to whatever backstory I may be working with to better situate my character into existing lore. Furthermore, I create characters (so, SO many NPCs) so frequently and see such potential in every stat, race, and class that I am more than willing to create a PC of any class to suit a party’s needs, mechanically, in terms of rounding out the group’s abilities. I’m a “story first” player. It’s all what you make of it, and I think I can do a lot with any class.  For the gaming sessions: I think body language, facial expressions, and the ability to speak to one another are such key things in making D&D, especially the way I like to play it, an incredible game. Thus, I’m only really interested in joining a game that uses both camera and voice chat. I have a nice webcam and quite a nice microphone as well. I’d actually even be down to join a game that streams or releases VODs/Podcasts and have a lot of experience with that sort of thing too, both as a cast member and as a producer for streaming/YouTube and audio podcasts. Availability: I should be able to make something work Wed-Fri starting after 4pm EST or just about any time on Sundays.  That’s all I’ve got for now! Feel free to reply to this post or message me directly (either here or on Discord @ McIrishlad) with any additional questions or openings.
