[5e][LFDM][CST][WEDNESDAY EVENINGS] Group of Five Seeking Campaign

Edited 1711594882
CURRENTLY IN TALKS WITH A POTENTIAL DM, MESSAGE WILL BE REMOVED IF THE GLASS SLIPPER IS A SHY TOO LARGE OR TOO TIGHT.  Greetings and Salutations! I am the acting liaison between our group and hopefully a super fun, easy going Dungeon Master who will be so gracious enough to let us explore and influence a beautifully crafted world or a favorite module. Regardless of whether we manage to catch your interest, thank you so much for stopping by and we wish you happy gaming! The Basics Medium : Roll20 or Foundry (Map) & Discord (Voice) Language : Exclusively English Time-zone : Central Standard Time Time : Starting from 6 p.m. and ideally lasting at least three hours, possibly more. Preferred Genre (s): We are completely open and would love to experience what you are most passionate to run. That said, for more specific details, please see Cravings down below.  Type of Game : [✓] Sandbox, [X] Railroad or [✓] Mix                            [✓] Homebrew World, [✓] Faerun                            [✓] Homebrew Story, [✓] Select Official Modules*, [✓] 3rd Party Modules ⭐  5e Modules have a bad reputation of being poorly organized and not particularly friendly for highlighting player backstory and agency. If you have a particular module you think would be a good fit, pitch it! Murder Dungeons like Mad Mage are not up to our speed.  Campaign Length* : [✓] Short Term, [✓] Long Term or [✓] One-Shot ⭐ We actually do want a long term game, but it might be best to start with something short and sweet so you can determine if we are the right fit for you and vice versa without any long term commitments. Consider the check marks on Short Term or One-shot an understanding that you might want a trial period that is easy to end on amicable terms if we do not mesh well together. A Little About Our Group Experience : All of us are well versed in tabletop games in general (in particular with 5e) and are all equally passionate about the game; we are coming in with a solid foundation and have good chemistry with each other. We have some forever Dungeon Masters here that would love a chance to strut their stuff in the player seat. Game-style(s) : As a whole, we are a bit more focused on roleplay but by no means shy away from a meaningful and challenging fight! I'd say our ideal would be 60/40 leaning more heavily towards roleplay; but, of course, story direction and decisions made by the party will directly influence the percentages. It's okay if there isn't combat for long stretches, just like it's okay if we end up in a maze filled with terrifying and hostile monsters for a few sessions as we fight to survive. I love how creative our group can be. It makes me so happy when someone comes up with a quirky plan and it comes to fruition. I also love it when we fail in the most spectacular way. It's all drama and story consequences and I live for it. I will admit that some of our members can be chaotic at times, all in the name of fun. We are not murder hobos, however, and are vehemently against killing off innocent NPCs or players without proper permission / discussion / obvious roleplay based motivation beforehand (or we happen to be playing the cartoon villains for a one-shot). Only one person in our group is particularly great at riddles or puzzles, but if this is an aspect of the game you love we will.. try not to make you cringe too much. Comfort Zones : We're all adults (over the age of 18), and no one objects to rich, gritty, realistic and dark worlds and story threads any more than a light, feel good coming of age story. All we ask is that things are presented in a tasteful way. Giving us a visual of the situation without going into explicit content with innuendos is fine, as is a fade to black when relevant. We appreciate your understanding of this! Expectations : I am a firm believer in a session zero or at least a nice meet and greet before we officially begin, both for your benefit as well as ours. We do not want to waste your time if we are not the right fit for you, because your enjoyment is just as important as ours. Below is a quick, incomplete list of a few of them. ⭐ House Rules : If you have any house rules regarding how key mechanics work, please let us know so we can make informed decisions on character creation. We aren't all a bunch of hard core min-maxers, but it should be known if something we're focusing on (such as Tools or a specific skill) will not work as written. On the other side, if you offer options such as tested homebrew or unearthed arcana, we'd love to explore content that you approve of, and knowing that before we make characters might give us time to come up with compelling backstories. ⭐ Pet Peeves : If you have any pet peeves, please let us know beforehand. No one wants to intentionally annoy you, but we might if you keep it to yourself until you can not handle it anymore. We'll do the same! ⭐  Rules Debates : This sort of coincides with house rules, because 5th edition is so open ended about how things actually function. To avoid heated debates, I think we can all agree that a DMs final call should be respected so we can all move on and continue the game. However, we would appreciate it if our future Dungeon Master would be open to a discussion on why said player(s) feels it can logically be interpreted differently sometime after the game and before the next session. Not to argue, but rather offer perspective and air out any feelings on the matter in a healthy and mature way. ⭐ Romance : We have a few players that are hopeless romantics, we hope that any future Dungeon Master will be okay with this aspect of the game so long as we monitor ourselves (if it makes sense to be in one to begin with) to not make it all encompassing, distasteful and unrealistic. If you as a Dungeon Master are personally against NPC & Player or Player & Player romances due to the nature of the current story (rather than over-all), please let us know. Otherwise, slow burns with subtle pinning are a personal favorite.  Note: One particular player is *not* interested in this aspect of the game for themselves , but is fine with it existing among other players, and being referenced in game.  Availability : The only day every single one of us is able to play is between 6 p.m. and playing until no later than 10 p.m. on Wednesdays. We have an active military player that may or may not cause us to miss a game or have to cater to a long term absence. Any potential Dungeon Master deserves to know this in case that is a deal breaker. We have carried on with sessions missing a person before, and all understand that life happens. We will try to give at least 24 hours notice barring an emergency. Roster : While we are coming in as a party of five . If any potential Dungeon Masters are coming in with a plus one, we definitely have no issues meeting new people! We are LGBT+ friendly allies. Cravings : This is not necessarily the only thing we are looking for, or that this should be a basis for any potential Dungeon Masters to contact us. Simply some ideas we have passed around between us.  ⭐ A wholesome coming of age adventure story with darker elements used only for well placed story beats.  ⭐ A nautical / airship based treasure hunting campaign, with plenty of island exploration or mainland adventures to offer a change of scenery after spending many months at sea / sky. ⭐ A Monster Hunter Guild where building relations with fellow Hunters is just as important as defending the City / Guild / Province.  ⭐ Recurring lawful evil Big Bad Evil Guy (BBEG) who is initially far too formidable to confront. Characters unanimously recognize BBEG as an adversary that must be stopped. Contacting us If you would like to proceed with meeting us, please send a private message (On Roll20 if possible, as it is the more active option if you are seeing this on another LFG forum) for follow up. Afterwards we can exchange Discord information and open up a group chat for the whole crew. Thank you again for your time, and I hope you have a superb rest of your day.
