Long ago, even before the world was faced with Calamity, Exandria was a land wrought with strife, as the gods and primordials fought for control of the planet, leaving the gods' mortal creations in the crosshairs. Nowadays, things are ostensibly more peaceful... But no being so powerful is truly gone forever, as echoes of that great, long-forgotten Schism can always be heard by those keen enough to listen. The world of Exandria is vast, chaotic, and teeming with life and potential. From all across the distant lands of Wildemount, great voices call out to a group of would-be heroes. Prime Deities; Betrayers; Primordial Titans; Lesser Idols; and all things in between. When asked to take up arms, to travel the world and make themselves known, how will an unlikely crew of ordinary people act, when the eyes of gods are forever on their backs? I'm Gray, a nonbinary GM who has been playing this game for the better part of a decade, and DMing just as long. This is a standard, weekly campaign through the continent of Wildemount on Exandria! We have already played through the first, initial arc of this campaign, but due to a brief break and some changes in players' lives, we're looking for a new player or two! While I have a strong idea for the story of this campaign, as we are already around 20 sessions deep, I plan on highly adapting it based on what elements of the world players are looking to see brought to life. I'm also hoping to gather people who are familiar with the world already, but if you aren't, no worries! I'm always very happy to teach. At one of my tables, you can expect a lot of great roleplay, a myriad of different voices for countless memorable NPCs, and combat that feels as technical as it is narratively-satisfying. Since we have already played through a fair bit of this campaign, I will make absolutely sure that any new players feel like just as much a part of the table as everyone else, and the story will be adapted and transformed into something even greater with the newer additions. Additionally, any new player's first session will be FREE. Before delving into the game, I will meet with each new player individually to go over some of the major story beats we've experienced, as well as help craft a character that will fit into the world. The party is currently Level 5, and playing with Gestalt rules, meaning that they gain the benefits of two separate classes all at once. These new rules have been fun to explore, and fit into the themes of the story so far. I am a longtime Critter, and am deeply invested in the world of Exandria, so I will happily guide a party to whatever corners of Exandria the players are interested in exploring! The party may have met up in Uthordurn, but now the entire continent and beyond are at their finger tips! The echoes of potential call out to you through voices beyond yourselves, and the party will travel to the ends of the earth to meet that glorious fate. Character Creation: This campaign is currently at Level 5, and uses the Milestone leveling system. All Race options officially published by Wizards of the Coast are allowed at my table, except the following options: Centaur, Kender, Plasmoid, Simic Hybrid, Vedalken, and Verdan. All Classes, Spells, Feats, and Backgrounds officially published by Wizards are allowed as well, in addition to Matt Mercer's Blood Hunter, character options from the Tal'Dorei Reborn Campaign Setting. I am also comfortable with other homebrew Matt Mercer has built, such as the Maestro Bard and Gunslinger Fighter, but would work more closely with players to make sure the builds work at the table. This is due to some of those homebrews being slightly unbalanced mechanically, or more applicable in some settings and stories than others. If there is any homebrew or other content you have in mind, I'm always open to discussion, but reserve the right to not allow some content. If you have any other general questions about the game and how I like to play, feel free to reach out!
