Player Question: Does Roll20 OLG Character Sheet Handle Everything for Multiclassing?

Hi All, I'm new to DnD but my DM suggested I pick up one level of Wizard for my Level 2 Paladin character. (Mainly because I'd like a familiar for giving combat advantage, delivering touch spells and flavor) Would everything I need to know about multiclassing be handled automatically by the Roll20 Character sheet? What things would I have to calculate/input myself (spell slots/prepared, hit points, etc?) Info appreciated!

Hi Ferryn! The Charactermancer will certainly handle multiclassing. Note that character creation for 5e has gotten more complex as time has gone on,and there are a few recurring issues. It's always a good idea to quickly audit the sheet when leveling.
Thanks for the reply! Not sure what you mean by "audit the sheet"?

What Keith means by audit the sheet is that the Charactermancer is not a substitute for knowing the rules and making sure the character sheet is correct. So take a look at the character sheet to make sure everything is correct after using the Charactermancer (audit the sheet).
Ah, thanks for clarifying! Suppose I was being a little lazy, hoping the sheet could 'know' all my multiclass characteristics for me. Back to the books!

So part of the problem there is that there are multiple ways of doing things. Examples: Are you taking the average or are you rolling for HP?  Are you using the Tasha's Cauldron of Everything method of ability score modifiers for race or are you using the Player's Handbook method?  Also, mistakes can be made such as accidentally selected to level up twice.  Additonally, some elements of the Charactermancer could be bugged, or not take things into account properly. It is after all a very complicated game.  For example, I know the D&D 5e Charactermancer is completely wrong in how it handles duplicate skills. :) And Ranger's Humanoid option for Favored Enemy is bugged.  So, always verify (audit). :)
All very good to know, thank you! Re: Hit Points - I took the average when I created the character and would like to continue to do so, but will the Charactermancer know how to calculate and average for a multiclass character? Guess I'll have to do it manually and check if it comes up correctly... like everything else!

Level 2 Paladin + Level 1 Wizard should be:  10 + 6 + 4 = 20hp + (constitution bonus * 3) Assuming D&D 5e.

In general, Charactermancer does a very good job of following the rules (for a subjective definition of "very good"), but it absolutely does run into occasional problems., particularly if you change your mind at some point and undo/redo a lot of choices. If you want to check it against HP totals by taking the average, here is a good resource . Come release of the new sheet, there have been reports of a new character generator. I haven't seen or heard of any details, though.
