Hi I am Serena! I have DMd for well over 20 years since 3rd Edition. Discord: warbunny I am running a RP heavy campaign that will focus on their place within the High Drakkarra empire. Having a detailed backstory is a must, for I will definitely dive into the backstory and explore aspects of it through RP. The theme is remembering the past. A past that has been largely scrubbed from history. Two of the players are already playing an Archaeologist and a Cloistered Scholar, in order to delve in and uncover the past. Depending on what you pick or play will decide how you shape the story. It is a heavy RP game. And milestone experinece. If you have not engaged in any comabt, but have facilitated enough through RP to progress to the next stage of the plot...you will level. Do not feel the need to optimize. Non optimal characters who build their characters to fit a RP theme will be rewarded for their efforts. The game is an open sandbox within the empire. And adventuring is an actual professsion. And home brew is allowed with approval! Gist: The setting is a large continent , however the main focus of the continent is within a section of it . The High Drakkarra empire . The empires legacy spans back thousands of years . And it has always been a painful legacy . A Legacy of slavery where the people were forced to service a god like being . The people of that time revolted and destroyed that being . . .and to prevent them from ever coming back they covered up any and all history about this person . Even losing their name to time and referring to them only as "The Master " . Over that time , a thousand or more years had passed . And the people back then had desired to begin anew . Building on the ruins of the old world and starting a new one . Though in modern times in this day and age , the foundations of areas are ancient . It 's not unheard of to be cleaning a storm drain , only for it to collapse beneath you and you find yourself in a centuries old catacomb forgotten by time . There are sanctioned digs to uncover old magical items and relics from ages past , long forgotten and erased in history .
And during this time it is a rennaisance of sorts . The empress that had taken the throne had made a number of choices that are highly beneficial to the people . IN her wake , organizations have sprung up baed on orders that had not been recognized . Merchants guilds with full backing of the crown . An Adventurers guild . And even arcane orders were formed . All stiffled and stimmied from the last empire . . .a number of the organizations have been around since old times , working only in secret , but since the empress has been on the throne they can thrive in the light of day .
Even druidic orders who focus on the preservations of the the balance have found that they can have a voice and be heard by the empress .
When the story starts out , each character will have their own backstory . They could have been or still part of the military . A part of one of the many different organizations . . .or simply from humble roots of lines of old heroes . Whatever the case . . .They all find themselves in the company of adventurers now .
