Old player trying to get back in the saddle (favouring GURPS, but D&D 5th edition is a good choice too)

I've been playing tabletop RPGs for a few years a while back, but finding groups has been... More difficult than I ever expected. I really want to get back to tabletop RPGs and have some fun... While I listed my favorite systems, I can learn others too! I can also GM (GURPS or 5E) if needed. If any of you would GM a GURPS Fantasy game allowing me to fulfill my dream of finally playing a Pegasus Knight though (Florina is Best Girl and has single-handedly ignited my fascination for the very idea of Pegasus Knights), that would make my day   week   month  year!  But any other kind of game would be neat too! I also play video games on the side if any group is interested in any "side gig" as it were. Groups tend to hold together better if they do more than one thing together. I'm in Western Europe time zone (time zones SUCK!  There, I've said it!), and I'm not exactly used to making these kinds of posts  nor am I good when it comes to talking about myself, so feel free to ask questions.
Ugh I want to run a fantasy GURPs campaign again so bad. But if I did a “Pegasus Knight” would have to be a long term goal… as I tend to start folks with very few points for character creation.
Depends on how few "very few points" are, the Ally (Familiar) advantage isn't all that expensive, and outside of Resistance to Altitude Sickness and Cold Tolerance, a Pegasus Knight shouldn't be all that different from the typical mounted combatant right? Still, I love gurps and would love to finally be able to play it. I've GM'ed a couple of games (that never really went far) with it, but never got to actually play it.
