Any way to give players search functionality over Notes, Handouts & Characters?

I'm currently starting my first public Roleplay session using the Stars Without Number ruleset, and there are many weapons with many different "tech levels" and "projectile types". Instead of having my players go through the book every single time they want to see the tech level of a gun I thought it'd be neat to have them just search through their handouts with the specific tag to see what shows up. Is this possible?

I don't think so. If I understand the way it works, the GM has the access to the tag search for each handout and sheet. The best you can do is allow the players to view the Handouts. They will have to do the manual viewing of each handout. You can give the player's permission to view and edit the sheets and even the handouts but still have to do the manual viewing. There is not a word or term search inside the handouts and sheets. The GM note sections are only visible to the GM and no one else. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

It's all good, thanks for the response. It's unfortunate though, it'd be a lot easier for them to search via my tags as opposed to flipping through a book or scrolling through a PDF

If most of your content is text, you could build a fairly competent search solution in the API (Mentor level feature). Edit: The API doesn't have access to the Tags, but you could parse the text of the handouts and build some indexes.

You can do nested handouts, however, with a master index of handouts so people can find specific things more easily.

It is a method of placing html links inside the handout that link to more handouts if I understand it correctly. Master handout link: handout 1 link: handout 2 etc...

if its all text in the handouts, can either do the API thing Aaron mentioned (need mentor) or Players can hit f3 (or whatever browser they are usings hotkey, f3 is chrome) and do a search with the browser. What i do on my NPC and descriptions handout as a GM since its really really long now.. open it, hit f3, and type who im looking for. So that way one handout can have like ALL the projectile types of one tech level but still go right to the one your looking for.
