Why is the URL of a loaded campaign lobby not named after the campaign? - When restarting the PC, the older tabs load the last opened campaign because of this...

The actual question: For all campaings, the URL only got a general name, but not a specific name, why is that? " https://app.roll20.net/editor/ " why not for example: " https://app.roll20.net/editor/campaignABCDEFG " The situation: I know this situation is a bit nieche, but when I have like 3 different loaded campaigns open in three different tabs, then close the browser and restart my computer, then, when I re-open the browser again after the restart, all 3 tabs only load the last opened campaign. (being GM and Player in different campaign leads to opening more than one campaign sometimes, when in creative process, or after playing ...) The effect: Thereby the URL is the same on all the tabs the browser only knows the last opened campaign and loads all other "campaign lobby tabs" with the identical URL into the same last loaded campaign. The understanding: I know this isn't a super important feature, but I was just wondering, why there isn't a specific URL for each campaign, that is created. Thank you for answering my silly question I hope you as a reader have a pleasant day/night. Greetings Gerd

My guess is that it is related to how information is communicated with the VTT, but I really don't have anything concrete to add other than this is how it has been since day one. I believe the campaign identity is cookie-based. No restart needed either. If you open Campaign A, Then Campaign B in a new tab, and then refresh Campaign A, it will refresh to Campaign B. The advice has always been to be very cautious about opening multiple campaigns at once. There is a potential for data loss or corruption, but I haven't seen an actual report of this for many years. Note that a campaign opened in a private window will not write to that cookie and reopens in its own space. Likewise if you open a second user profile on Chrome. I'd also be curious to know why this is set up this way. As a tip, the "Launch" button has campaign info. You can drag it into your bookmarks and make a directed launch bookmark. If you put these into a common subdirectory, you can launch multiple games at once. Just be mindful that the last one opened sets the refresh identity.

I agree this is irritating and I wish they would sort it out. It's especially noticeable for me when I work in more than one sandbox and a normal campaign, but the browser only remembers the last one that was active and if you refresh thats the one that gets loading in all windows. Firefox and Chrome both have the ability to open in different user profiles, and those are distinct - if you want to open different roll20 campaign windows, for now the best way is to open them in different user profiles.

I usually work with my Active game open in Chrome and my Library game open in Firefox (or vice versa) but different user profiles sounds neat.

In firefox, install the Fireox Multi-Account Containers extension, then whenever you want to load something in its own account, rightclick the already open tab and select Open in New Container tab. And that's it. You'll need to log in in each container separately, but you can use the same credentials. Each container is completely isolated from others (different cookies, cache, etc) It comes with some pre-created "accounts" so you can use it straight away. Have fun!
Thank you to all of you for the great input :) I also hope, that someday this is sorted out, but in the mean time, the easiest solutions seems to be multiple browsers, but the extension GiGs mentioned sounds great aswell. Thank you for the recommendations :) Wish you all a great time
