The Stolen Compass: A Theran Odyssey Theros is a world of living legends: of gods, monsters, and men in constant contact. It is a world where omens are common, prophesied heroes quest for the favor of their patron gods, and dreams alone can create powerful beings that can rival the children of gods. But for all the wild beauty that exists within the world of Theros, there is no place with greater adventure, chaos, and danger than the Dakran Isles- the ever-shifting archipelago that has defied all attempts to be fully mapped and cataloged. In these Isles, destinies are met and lives can be forever changed- and there are few places a man could get richer than within those chaotic wine-dark seas. The Stolen Compass: A Theran Odyssey is an island-exploring campaign that will take heavy inspiration from the stories of our world’s Greek Mythology to weave a story that will see your characters rise from being lowly heroes to seafaring legends and possibly even the champions of the gods. Though it is only the search for wealth or glory that brings you to the Dakran Isles, that is not likely to remain the case in a land so legendary. Will you live up to the legends of heroes like Callaphe- or will you end up below the waves, struck down by the fury of the Goddess of the Seas? This adventure is for classical literature nerds, PJO fans, or just enjoyers of Greek Mythology and its themes. Your characters, gifted in different ways, will be able to create your own legends in this mythical setting to rival heroes of the past- with a focus on the character’s choices throughout this dalliance with destiny. Game style: This campaign, which I expect to go from levels 3-8 and probably beyond, is called The Stolen Compass: A Theran Odyssey, and takes a lot of inspiration from Homer's Odyssey. It is a nautical game where the characters venture into the mysterious Dakra Isles of the Theros Setting as a part of a trade expedition, and find multiple opportunities to enshrine themselves as legendary heroes like the many demigod-like heroes before them. The game will use the Piety and Supernatural Gift systems of the Theros corebook, and my intent is to make players get to feel what it's like to live in a greek mythology-inspired world, playing heroes in a world with constantly meddling and fallible gods. As a general rule, I favor roleplay a lot more than I do combat, though combat has its place and you could still expect it to occur in nearly every session.
