Syntax error for initiative on Black Crusade (Advanced sheet)

I have been getting the following error every time I try to roll initiative:  SyntaxError: Expected "(", ".", "[", "abs(", "ceil(", "d", "floor(", "round(", "t", "{", [ |\t], [+|\-] or [0-9] but "s" found. I tried looking up forums, but could never find this particular error. I am the only one in the game suffering this, the other players and GM are not. I am selecting my token before rolling. Any help would be appreciated.

Hmmm, shouldn't be a naming issue then.  Are you using a macro to roll initiative or are you pushing the initiative button?

I suggest duplicating the sheet, see if that fixes the issue.

Does the error happen with every character?  If it's just one character, could there be an issue with the name of the character/token?  Sometimes illegal characters (ie usually anything that might be interpreted as mathematical or perhaps a character that is found in roll20 macro handling) can interfere with sheets and macros.  Just something to check...

Do you have anything in the initiative die box?  I just noticed if I a roll "1d10" or have nothing in it it's fine.  If I have a blank space, I get the same error as you.

That's odd.  I have the Black Crusade Advanced sheet loaded and my Initiative looks different...?

Very strange.  I just created a new game and selected the Black Crusade Advanced from the sheet selector.

However, here's what I'm seeing when I created a new character Which does not look like the sheet's screen shot when creating a new game.  My guess is that there is "something" wrong on roll20's side of things.  There's been a bug over the last 10 days or so that has effected legacy sheets on roll20.  I have to wonder if this is related? Not sure if it also causing an issue with the initiative roll. The roll I'm seeing is very straight forward btw /em rolls Custom Initiative and gets [[@{selected|CInitiativeInput} &{tracker}]]. where CInitiativeInput seems to just be the die roll entered in the field.

I'm not familiar with the system or the sheet.  If you create a new character how does it look? Just wondering if the sheet changes depending on different on-sheet selections/choices?

OK, I did some testing. Turns out my GM was not using the advanced version, I was wrong. However, I created a new character on a test game and it works just fine, it's just in his game. I already went through 2 character sheets on his, the problem persisted only for me.

Gotcha.  So is Initiative working for you now?

Only on the new test game, not the one I was having trouble with.

Please provide a complete screenshot of your character (Player Sheet tab) so that we can try to replicate all of the settings etc. 

One thing you can try is deleting the attribute "CInitiativeInput" from the Attribute's and Abilities tab to force it to reset.  Also see if there are multiple instance of the "CInitiativeInput" attribute and delete those as well.

I'll have to send the pics piecemeal, since the forum likes to crash when I do bulk. Standby. as for the "CInitiativeInput" part, just tried that to no avail.

Just playing around with the Black Crusade (non-advanced) sheet.  The initiative looks like it uses modifiers from other attributes ie Agility, Perception, Intelligence.  Maybe there is something wrong with one of those fields or their modifiers that is breaking the initiative roll?

I just saw that there's a pull request that was just merged for this sheet 3hrs ago... <a href="https://github.com/Roll20/roll20-character-sheets/pull/12940" rel="nofollow">https://github.com/Roll20/roll20-character-sheets/pull/12940</a> Which means it was probably suffering from the Legacy Update bug.&nbsp; I can't say for sure, but it's possible this could be related. Maybe try clearing your cache and reloading the game.

I replicated your character sheet but was not able to replicate your problem.&nbsp; Which browser are you using? Do you have any extensions?&nbsp; Have you tried Private or Incognito?&nbsp; Edit: I have also sent you an invite to my game where I duplicated your sheet. Please check your private messages.

Please try creating a new character in the game with the problem. See if the brand new character has the issue.&nbsp;

First character had the problem. Later on I asked for a new sheet (changing characters), the problem persisted on the new sheet. Again though, only specifically in that game. In the test game I did and the one i was just invited to, both worked just fine.&nbsp;

What is your (not character) name in each of those games? If there is a difference maybe that is the problem? Alternately, is your GM using any Mods (API Scripts)? Another option might be to make an Initiative macro, see if that works.&nbsp; Finally, that game may just be bugged for you, you might have the GM try duplicating it and see if that helps.

I used the same username in all of them Not to my knowledge, he is rather new. No idea on how to make a macro, might need some help with that. I'll ask if the above doesnt work and when he's on.
