Linked journal entries in Jumpgate are not working

They keep directing to a new page and it fails to load.

Hi Ronnie,  As this is a Jumpgate issue the Devs need the be made aware of it. You can do that in the Jumpgate thread or via the Help Center .

Inline Handouts or Handout as separate Browser Windows? Inline Handout - Links work fine, but if you pop out Handouts then links need to be formatted differently to work with that. It is a KNOWN Bug... as a workaround use INLINE Handouts... Ronnie said: They keep directing to a new page and it fails to load.

Near as I understand it, they're inline, I don't really understand the distinction. For clarity, I'm creating links between journal entries with brackets [ ] . Handout 1 linking to [Handout 2] Handout 2 linking to [Handout 1] Expected behavior is that it opens up the new entry in the roll20 app client, or "in game". The same journal entries work fine in non-jumpgate environments, but in jumpgate they try to open a new window. A fresh jumpgate game with brand new, in game generated journal entries is still producing the errored behavior. A ctrl-click will get the expected behavior, but will also open a window that fails to load in addition. I've cleared my caches, updated chrome, done everything I can think of that might cause a client side error, and no dice. It does roughly the same thing in the discord activity environment as well, except there, the page never loads and there's no way to navigate back to the game.

I'm leaving up the original message, but I can confirm that something is indeed buggy with this process in Jumpgate. Reporting. Hi Ronnie! Have you checked the default behavior in your Jumpgate game? The box labelled "Character Popout Windows" should be unchecked. Note that this is poorly worded. It should say "Journal Popout Windows", since it affects all journals, both characters and handouts.

No, in that with it enabled it pops out each journal entry to its own window which is better than the buggy behavior, but it still has issues, such as each popped out instance redirecting itself to a dead page as well as popping up a new one. Meaning old pages don't stay on their entries, they go to a new page and also open a new window that properly directs to the clicked hyperlink address. Expected behavior would be that the old page stays where it is and a new one would open, also popped out. Regardless, it's doing something funky with trying to redirect to new journal pages on the original entry, instead of simply open a new window, in client or otherwise.

I don't know if you saw my edit, but I confirmed that it's buggy and have reported. Though in my case, clicking on the link kicks me entirely from the game.

I have been informed that it is logged for a fix
Thanks man, I did read your post, just trying to be diagnostically thorough.

Try again. I have received word (and verified, at least on my end) that the problem has been fixed.
Appears to be fixed. 100% expected behavior. Thanks for the help Keith and please pass on my gratitude to whomever you're in communication with.
