Maps not showing! All thats coming up is Black screens in both GM & Player views! HELP!!!

Hello all! GM here. Been some months since my game was fired up. Players coming back and want to continue. Got into my game to start preparing for my next session and all the Maps are black! Switched to player view....still black. I've been messing around with all the settings trying to fix this issue. I use firefox, no extensions that would prevent maps from showing. I submitted a help request but im seeking all avenues i can to try and solve this. Please help!

Hi Edward B.,  Make sure that your "GM Darkness Opacity" is not set to maximum.  You can check that on a page by page basis in the settings for each page. 

i've tried multiple settings with it, including "0", still all black

So it might be a browser issue, or it might be a game issue.  For browser issue, I suggest trying the following steps:  1) Make sure you are using Chrome or Firefox. Since you have already said you are using Firefox, please try Chrome (to see if it works). 2) Try Incognito (Chrome) or Private (Firefox) mode.  3) Clear cookies and cache.  For game issue: please PM me an invite so I can come take a look. 

Holy crappers it seems to work in Google Chrome! But why not firefox? Firefox is my primary browser and i haven't edited any particular settings on it.

Did you try Gauss' suggestion #2, above?

I just tried it in Firefox Private mode and it works....oooooh my gosh. Ok, for my sanity, can someone help me make sense of why it wouldn't work in normal firefox, but works in Private firefox mode?

i'm having the same issue, and so far have only been able to resolve it by duplicating the blanked out map with lighting, tokens, etc. When I did that, the duplicate worked as expected and looked fine. When I clicked back onto the original, it would also be working and looking as I would expect. So I deleted the duplicate and kept the old. Very glad to know they're not totally gone, but a PITA and a bit of a shock.

The usual reason is that private mode denies certain resources from the browsing experience, The usual culprit is a browser extension like an ad blocker, a script blocker, or a VPN. Another possibility is bad cache data. You can try toggling off extensions to try and find the culprit, or deleting cache and cookies. By turning off these things, or deleting bad data,you mat be able to find out what is causing Roll20 to not serve your images.
