(Speech') Greeting and Salutations, I shall be trying my hand at being a dungeon master for this campaign and after my experiences with being a player up to this point i will be editing 5e dnd in attempt to put the imagination back into the game that is supposed to promote it. Of course i'm not seeking fully blown whismical anarchy so rules and aspects of dnd are going to be present of course but as an example if you perform a stealth check and roll high enough to be undeteched by a guard you won't need to role to see how much damage you do or IF you knock him out, if he didn't notice you than unless he's EXTREMELY important to the story, you can choose how he goes down and the best imagination you have regarding the takedown the more it will benefit you so if you expect to play in this game as a murder hobo i would suggest another venture sense let's just say you can act like a murder hobo but it will be, costly... As stated above games will be monthy and will happen on one of the two days listed above, if you can't make it to a game for a good reason it's understandable but it's once a month so you'll get a three strike policy than you'll be kicked if you can't show up and i will not censor myself so if you are easily offended or are not an adult that can handle things you may take issue with this venture is not for you. ALSO know that as the DM my word is law, you WILL have a good enough microphone, you WILL head my judgements and you WILL not cause drama between players and thus if you have issues with anyone you will privately tell those issues to me, i will talk to the other person and if something can't be arranged between you i will ask all players in dms if they also have similar issues and depending on if they do or do not one of the two will be asked to leave and there will be no debate (also if you have issues with me than honestly don't apply and if you find issues with me during the game IF your accepted than i can either peacefully make a excuse for you leaving or you will be kicked without mercy because you can change out a player but i'm the story maker so yeah). Oh, but i'm getting ahead of myself, this implies you are WORTHY of the challenge ahead and to determine this pupils you'll be given a test or moreso questions for you to fill out instead of something like multiple choice sense afterall i want three things from those who seek to attempt this journey: #1: I want to know what kind of player you are, i've dealt with good and bad players in the past and in order to weed out those who only seek to disrupt a game i must gain some insight on the choices you would make out of game and in game. #2: Creativity is a big part of what i'm looking for, i don't want players so much as i want immersable people to join the world i'm creating, as i said i'm not looking for mindless murder hobos but i do want anyone applying to know you don't have to be talkative or assert yourself all the time BUT i don't want utterly silent, always just doing what everyone else wants players or players you can't stop talking to save their lives because both are disruptive and make the venture more tedious because i either must prod one to get them to be involved or talk over the other to get them to stop. (something i MUST add is that if you go get in you playing your character in a way that makes sense for them will not be punished or scrutinized scrutinized. For example if a character plays a ranged character and some other player complains that they are to far away from the party or a rouge is always invisable and another player can't see them and complains the one who complains is at fault not the player playing their class. They are allows to asked the player to be more visable or closer but if its needed for your character than you did nothing wrong and do not need to comply with the REQUEST not demand of the one that takes issue with it). A quick note before i move on to #3 is that to add to what was said at the end of #2 the rule of "don't split the party" is not a must in this venture. Yes, there are times when it will be unwise to do so but it will not be punished. This is one of the things i want to change in my game, being by yourself somewhere will not trigger me to send enemies your way UNLESS you go somewhere that has them and you roll poorly, the idea that the party can almost never be apart is to me quite foolish and creates a frankly toxic "bond" that doesn't allow certain players to play the game to the fullest, in fact if you are selected and you take issue with the group your in anyone in said group is allowed to split off alone or with certain members of the group and we will do your venture seperately if you want so you all are in the same world and might even come accross each other but don't need to be in the same group, i can have NPC characters accompany you or you can ask others you know to apply to join you later on, i merely ask you give the first group a fair shoot first. #3: As i've stated already i want to weed out players that are just playing for certain reasons that are disruptive for example, a person who plays a evil character to justify any action they do no matter how questionable or perhaps a player who does certain things while playing that they would condemn others for and talk behind their backs to the other players to get them out of them game. This stuff and more happens sadly to frequently and to a degree is why i am starting here with DMing instead of playing so i can control what happens and determine who is the real problem and out them if i have to. If the second senario plays out and and decide to get rid of the one who got others to side with them which causes other players to leave so be it, as i said before this being in a group will not be mandatory, no other player can force you to play to their wants not needs and i can let you continue to play without the group if it comes to that so just know i will do what i can in my power to help you play this game and have fun doing so IF you are selected. Also sense i am new to DMing advice is fine if you have it but no backseat DMing and arguing "the rules" with me. Contesting my decisions is accepted so long as your logic makes sense and this goes for any player but i'm not getting into a debate over every little thing because as meantioned i am the DM and what i say goes, if you aren't for that than don't apply, lastly because i have run into this before, nobody is obligated to befriend anyone in the group myself included. If you wish to befriend another player cool, go for it but think of this sense it's online like a MMO video game, at any time you could be working with other players but at the end of the day you don't have to interact with them more than the game itself unless you actively want to and if you want to and someone else doesn't respect it OR ELSE... I'm not gonna tolerate "required kinship" simply because you are both playing the same game. You can get to know them in game if you want to and they can again refuse or JUST get along with you in game, that's how it is so deal with it or don't apply. Here's some helpful advice before answering: -In any game you will face the unknown and must improvise where you lack clarity, this is no different. -This application is the prolog to the game and as the DM i'm stating if you wish to proceed you must answer the questions. -Even the most trivial of things can hold more meaning or importance than you may understand. The Application: Q1: You take issue with how another player is playing the game and think they should play a different way to make things better for everyone, what actions do you take? : Q2: You get a ability with a description that is confusing and you believe it's meant to do one thing but when you look online or ask around the group they claim it's meant to do something else, what do you do? : Q3: You build a character you really like and it has a ton of great extras on it but the DM says those items aren't allowed or need to be altered but you really want them on your character, what do you do? : Q4: (this is not a job resume, keep that in mind) Pick 5 words that best describe you and elaborate on them so i can get to know who you are as a person, what defines you? : Q5: There are plenty of people will less requirements and easier games that don't also have a new DM involved with them so why apply to this one (be warned that if your applying for this as one of many options you are looking to join i would stop here and not continue)? : Q6: this one should be easy, I'm not the oldest person myself and don't have massive amounts of dnd experience persay so as a duel question give me a age range of how old you are (as in if your 25 you can say 20-30s) and does me being in my 20-30s myself along with my lack of experience give you concerns for this venture? : Q7: This should also be easy, i can't stop you for looking up the defintion of isekai (sense thats what this venture will focus around) so instead what do you think of when you hear the term isekai (better not give me the defintion)? : Q8: You find yourself in the game alone, away from your allies for a reason you can't explain, the area around you is covered in a thick fog, what do you do? : Q9: Your characters quirk for this question is "i can't stand it when people mock others like myself" and one of the party members happens to do so at first without knowing this information about you, what do you do? To follow this lets say you tell them and they still do it because you have now learned they have a good reason for doing so at least in their mind, what do you do then? (please answer both questions): Q10: Let's say the games happens close to when you get off work or school and so you sometimes are late and a few times and also have 2 strikes for not showing up at all for one reason or another and than another player seemingly does something similar and they don't seem to get a strike for it and nobody else takes issue with it but they to a degree took issue when you were gone, what do you do? : Q11: You get in the game but after a few sessions you find that everyone involved is someone you can't stand as people for one reason or another, what do you do (be aware if you write down one thing and do something else entirely later on you will be kicked without warning)? : Q12: Do you consider yourself a good person?: Q13: Isekai is highly connected to anime so what are 10 anime/manga (or other manga like alternatives) that you would reccomend ME (you better not just pick 10 isekai...)? (for those who don't like anime you don't have to like it but you do have to reccomend 10 of something else you enjoy here) : Q14: This should be easy, what do you enjoy most about dnd? : Q15: What is something you are very passinate about? : Q16: In school or at work there's always the cliques that exist like the "rebels", the smart kids and the popular ones so which group (if any) were/are you in? : Q17: The party has options on where to go next, you want to go one way and most of the group wants to go the other way, what do you do? : Q18: Let's say that at some point in the game the abilities you want are either no more or you lose them somehow and will not get them back, what do you do? : Q19: What is your option on how many questions you've had to answer? : Q20: From what you have read here what is your impression of me based on what you should have read? : I will not explain the campaign until I have selected thoses who will join because if you can't get past this part why would i bother to explain what my intention for the story is? All you need to know is it will be a Isekai type story and if that isn't enough for you for now than as i've said many times this venture isn't for you. Reply with the answers to the questions above and i will try to get back to you as soon as i can to determine if you will be selected but due note patience is a requirement. Thank you for your interest regardless if you apply or not and also do note if i don't find at least 5 selected than this will not happen.
