Life in the Ash Grove is relatively peaceful, yet adventure lurks around every corner. Far from the kingdom's border and the problems found there, the Grove's denizens are left to their own devices. With no real connection to the kingdom save for the annual visit from the tax collector, they rely on the aid of the Ember Rangers to keep their homelands safe. The Ash Grove is called that because all the flora found within is ash-colored, as if all normal pigmentations have been drained from them. Several new types of flora are found exclusively within the Grove, whose properties blend the natural and magical. Home to various creatures, such as the snake folk, the Grove is as dangerous as it is beautiful. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Heya there! As the title says, our weekly homebrew game is looking to add another player after recently losing one. We are only 9 sessions in but already have a great vibe with the players, and so we are hoping to add some one that will add to this vibe. Some info on the game to help figure out if it piques your interest. We play on Saturday Nights at 10:30pm EST/EDT and use discord for the audio part. This is a 5th edition D&D game using the 2014 rules. The party just hit 3rd level. This is an LGBTQ+ friendly game, with a couple members of the community in the game (including myself) This is set in a homebrew world with its own pantheon. More importantly, the focus of the game is going to be on/confined to a set area known as the Ash Grove. A decent sized forest in which all the flora are the various shades and colour of ash. As a result, it is also home to unique creatures. After losing a war, the kingdom in which the Ash Grove resides, has turned all its focus on strengthening its borders and so the settlements on the interior have been left to fend for themselves. With no military to protect them, the people of the Grove have mustered their own defense force. For character creation, players are limited to the races found in the PHB, plus the following: Aasimar, Eladrin, Firbolg, Genasi, Goliath, Kenku, Tabaxi, and Triton. Class options can be from any D&D official sourcebook (No CR, UA, Grim Hollow, etc.) For stats, the group rolled a single set that they all used (16, 16, 15, 13, 11, 10) The Silvery Barbs spells is not allowed in this game. Our Current party consists of the following: A gnome wizard (Order of Scribes), a human cleric (Peace domain), and a tabaxi monk (Way of the Astral Self). Prospective players should not feel the need to fill any "roles" or the like. I would rather people play characters they are comfortable with. If you have made it this far and the game still sounds like something you would be interested in, then fill out the following application "form." Some people will have a second round of one-on-one talks with me, and then, lastly, the player picked will sit in on a session to see if this game is your cup of tea. We are trying to keep the group's vibe as is, so I want to make sure the new player meshes well. Feel free to post below or shoot me a DM. I look forward to hearing from you. ^_^ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Name: What do you want to be called Pronouns: What pronouns do you wish to be used for you? Experience playing D&D: No experience is required, this just helps me figure out who may need extra help or not. I have experience running games for all types. Experience with Roll20: Much like the above question, no experience is required, just lets me know if I have to give extra help, etc. What character concept would you like to play?: This doesn't have to be the character you wish to play in this game, just a concept you want to play. Also, note that race and class do not need to be invoked here at all. A concept could be "An ex-soldier who has left the military after learning that their commanding officer knowingly threw lives away even though the action offered little benefit to the rest of the unit. Now they travel the Grove trying to gain coin so that they can help provide for the families of those lost." What kind of game are you looking for? Do you want tons of roleplay and little combat, tons of combat and little roleplay, a balanced mix, lots of political intrigue, no political intrigue, etc? If you were a hotdog, and you were starving, would you eat yourself? : Feel free to expand on your answer as much or little as you like.
