Can't Type In The Chat Box During Sessions

Me and some of my players have been having this issue: we can't type messages in the chat box This has happened to me both as a DM and as a player for another campaign for about a month, so it isn't limited to one game. I have tried deleting the chat logs from the game detail settings, but I still continue to have this issue. A work-around I found was if I were to hold my mouse over the chat, and then type, would the words be typed out and visible in chat, but it's finicky and not a complete solution. Is there anything else I can do to solve this issue? Thank you.

Hi Meep N,  Which browser are you using?  Have you tried Incognito (Chrome) or Private (Firefox) mode? 

I'm using Chrome but haven't switched to Incognito mode (for reasons I can't sadly)

Incognito mode is a necessary troubleshooting step to determine what kind of problem may be causing that.  In lieu of that please try Firefox, see if the problem is happening there. 

With the Chromebook I'm using as of now, I cannot switch over to Firefox as there are certain restrictions placed on my Chromebook hence why I can only use Chrome.   However, the typing bug might be a device issue, as when I switched to using Roll20 on my phone, I could type perfectly fine in the chat box. So it might just be my Chromebook.  Thank you so much for the help so far though. I really appreciated the advice!

Please check, if you have browser extensions running (and if possible, disable them). Add Blockers in particular result in strange behavior with Roll20.

I think there might have been a similar issue reported with Grammarly.
