Changing Player Permissions to Edit Their Sheets???

Character Sheet: D&D 5E (2014) by Roll20 I do plan on moving to the new 2024 Roll20 Character Sheet later this fall. Aside from a 9 year old post about this topic, https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/1112894/slug%7D, I haven't found anything else that gives me indications that this can be changed/controlled. I don't know how to use API Scripts, but that is probably where my next learning bout will go. But for now, here's my issue and question. A number of my players over the course of games have accidentally made an edit on their character sheet, often making things harder on themselves, or they drag and drop something that either didn't need to be, was the wrong thing, or that something else should have been deleted when the new thing was dropped. What's worse, is in a game where I'm a player, another of the players admitted to making changes to their character sheet on purpose so that they wouldn't die, or had more/different spell available at an given time, so forth and so on. All of this made me start keeping the character sheet PDF's of each of my game's players when they set them up, and each time they leveled. I've been able to mostly support players and let them know they didn't add on enough hit points, or enough spells or damage, or didn't increase an Ability Score/Modifier when they should have. However, I have found one of my own players, and a long time friend, who was skewing the character sheet to improve their performance. So we had it out and I addressed it with all players. I know that when they pencil and paper their own, these sort of things can happen, and trust is kind of a default in D&D, but I was thinking surely somehow there would be a way in a VTT like Roll20 to remove player's permissions from doing things like this, but I can find a setting anywhere. So is there something I'm missing that does allow a little more control of the sheet outside of the Charactermancer? I know some things, like changing spells after a long rest for some classes, are going to need to stay editable, but just wanted to know if I'm overlooking something, and if not, maybe how some of you more experienced Roll20/VTT GM's handle things like this? Thanks so much in advance!!!
If the Character was set up / made with Roll20 Characters and just imported to your game, there is NOTHING you can do about permissions on the sheet for THAT specific player! The only thing you CAN do is make a copy of that sheet and remove the original one from the game. There you can change permissions as much as you like. As for changing the sheet to the new DnD 2024 Sheet, I highly recommend make a COPY of your game (you need to copy API Scripts later on manually as those do NOT get copied over) and then change the sheet in Settings there. As for the Link: this was just a request. It was not implemented and the thread was closed because of inactivity... So you have to live with the current controlls...
Thanks for the response!!! Do you mind telling me where I can change permissions like that? I can't even find how to do that. :(
The only thing I can find is where you can put the character in certain player's journal, or give control and editing to a player, but surely a player should be able to move their token on the map to where they want to go without having to be able to edit the character sheet? Is there some other place I've overlooked? I mean when I delete the player from the "Can Be Edited and Controlled By" and only leave the "In Player's Journal" for them, I can't even get the character sheet to pull up...only the "Bio & Info" and their avatar picture is shown. This first screenshot is from my GM account. This second screenshot is from my dummy account I have on my second screen. Thanks again for any assistance!!

Hi Colby, the Dungeon Mann, In Player's Journals gives players the ability to see the Bio & Info tab, that is all. Can Be Edited & Controlled By gives players the ability to see and edit the Bio & Info tab, the Character sheet tab, and the Attributes & Ability tab. There are no other options at this time.
If the Token is linked to the Character Sheet, the player who can EDIT the Sheet, can also move around the token!
