Dynamic Lighting Issues

Hello! I am confused over the use of Dynamic Lighting for a campaign I've been making. Basically, I have dynamic lighting turned on for this map. It's a pretty open area, with the characters walking around outside, expected to head into two large buildings. Problem is, these buildings are very far from the player. They can see everything around themselves, including these buildings even though they have a vision of 30 feet on their character token! The player can also partially see some stuff inside of these buildings.  Any light/torch I put on the map does not affect player vision at all! I cross checked my previous campaigns, and this was not an issue with them. What am I doing wrong?

How are you testing what the player's tokens can see?  If you are logged in as a GM, you should be able to use CTRL+L on a given token to view and move on the map via that token's settings. You can also test by logging in as a player or even access your game in another browser tab/window as player.  Creating a " dummy " account for these types of things may be beneficial.
I use the 'Re-Join as Player' option under My Settings on the campaign to test what it would be like for a player. I also use Ctrl+L to test this. I've shared a sample of what this looks like below. The player should not see past 30 feet around them, so why does this work like so? Is this a fog of war issue?

Re-Join as Player often does not give accurate results, usually because the GM has assigned themselves control over various things.  Dummy accounts are much better.  Please screenshot the lighting layer, and screenshot the page's dynamic lighting settings.

From the token interface, it looks like you have a large number of subdivisions on the grid. Make sure you change the scale so that each of those subdivisions equals 5 feet, rather than the undivided grid.

Max, I don't see anything obviously wrong with those settings. Please PM me an invite to your game, I'd like to come take a look.

Hi Max! Please post the page settings for this page, showing both the Grid Scale DIstance and the Cell Width. My guess is that there is a bad value in there causing the lighting measurements to go awry.
Those grid settings match what I have on my game... I'll toss an invite to Gauss, perhaps he can notice something I didn't! Hoping we can make some sense of the issue!

How much light is the token emitting?

Combining bright and low light, it should be 30 ft as illustrated below: Edit: Randomly noticed that the token was able to go through locked doors and windows all of a sudden. Checked external game settings, then turned on 'Dynamic Lighting Barriers Restrict Movement' which resolved this problem. Is this some issue with external settings then?

External game settings don't affect existing objects unless you "Apply Default Settings" in-game. Even then, there are many exceptions. Dynamic Lighting settings would be one of those, since the assumption is that all pages (and tokens) would require individualized settings. In this case, the external settings change the behavior of new objects. Gauss should be able to sort out the issue.
Gauss showed me around, I was unaware of how I was using Legacy Lighting in my previous game. He clarified a lot of things, thank you for the help!

Gauss is good. I have a feeling that once the new Jumpgate system becomes fully functional, that legacy lighting will be finally phased out.
