Isle of Dread - DnD in the tropics

Looking for another player or maybe two to join in a fifth edition campaign starting soon. Using one of the oldest published setting areas for DND basically King Kong Island in a D&D world. Main goal is a sense of wonder. Laid back “Cool Cousin” DM (check profile for deets) who appreciates chill players and likes players in his games to be good to each other. Saturday night Pacific time a couple times a month.
Hello! Your campaign sounds fun would a relative dnd noob be able to join your campaign? My only dnd experience so far is a 4e game from over a decade ago and a new 5e campaign i just joined which is going so well i want to join another my only other dnd experience would be with dnd video games like Baldur's Gate 1,2,3 neverwinter nights ect.  im a 30 something year old male on east coast time but i have a very flexible schedule so that shouldn't be a problem if i end up joining i would probably play something simple since i am still learning dnd 5e proper like a barbarian or a fighter  I don't really have a style of play but im open to whatever level of roleplaying the group is comfortable with  The best place to reach me is my discord korkk7 I hope yo hear from you soon!
Well, I checked your profile I guess best way to say it is I read LOTR twice before I was out of my teens, and I played the hell out of Fallout 3 over the years - twice all the way through plus bonus content to survive the ending haha. So we got some geek cred in common.  I kind of started this campaign in response to this lady Christine who has only played a couple of times including my little session zero the other week (with a break for me to have Covid). It was honestly going to be an all-beginner thing but so far ended up with a good group of people of various levels of experience and age ranges. So yeah some patience for beginners. Try to start before 7pm pacific when possible, I try not to go more than 3 hours.
sounds good to me though 7 pacific is a bit late for me 10pm here i should be ok with 3 hour games as long as its Saturday  so to clarify will how big a group do we have at the moment? also this will be 5e campaign right even though the setting is an older one?
Well if you join it would make six, but my experience is always its possible that one or two people will flake by the second game or so. So six is a good place to start because it’s very likely going to turn into five or four at some point. I dont start trusting that everybody will be long-term until around game three or so.  it seems to be my luck that most of my players if not all will be East Coast time or worse in my games. One player so far is pretty gung ho but he is in England so several hours ha ha. Some people keep strange hours. yeah we are going to pretty much Keep it to Saturdays. Couple times a month. I don’t mind starting earlier when it starts getting dark out earlier so we can shoot for six although often just sit around waiting for everybody to show up.
Hello, I would be interested in joining if you are still looking for players.
Cool sounds good to me I'll be ready come next Saturday assuming that's our start date I can't imagine flaking out without warning if things weren't working out I'd let yall know rather than just bailing out  I'll keep an eye on the forums but feel free to message me on my discord korkk7 if needed
