[LFP/Interest Check] World of Darkness 20th Edition Games

Salutations and merry mustelid meet! I am Ferret and I have a love for running WoD and PbtA system games. I am currently trying to set up what I want to run next when I have the time for a new game. My current interests are: Changeling: the Dreaming 20th, Dark Ages VtM 20th, Modern Age VtM 20th, and (perhaps) a Technocratic Mage: the Ascension game. I am going to use this thread as a litmus test for what could be the most desired by potential players. If you are interested in any of these games, please reply in this thread. I will NOT respond to DMs on Roll20 at this time. Game 1 - CtD 20th: Keep Austin Weird - This game will take place in Austin, TX in the modern age, give or take. The metro area is under control of a nascent Duke who overthrew the last Duke with the help of a gaggle of Nobles and Commoners who found the old ruler's staid ways cloying. Since his coronation the city has been renovating the power structures while the wonder of a meteor shower is coming along. The Dreaming is full of embers from extinguished stars, quests are incoming, and status can be gained in a Court that is balancing precariously in an island of blue in a sea of red. Game 2 - DAV20 -> Modern V20: Ages of Vast Purple - Staring in the Dark Ages, this game will start out with aged neonates/young ancillae who are going to be instrumental in setting up the Sabbat. This game will go from the Dark Ages to an AU Victorian Age to the Modern Age with a set of stories/chapters per chronicle. I want to start in Dark Ages to see how well people can play Roads before we move into the Sabbat Victorian Age+ and will have Paths of Enlightenment on the table. While I don't expect vast sweeping changes in the real world history, the shifting of WoD "canon" and metaplot is more than allowable in this game. I believe I want to start in either Paris, France or somewhere in England for the first arc. I'm not entirely sure what I'd run for V20 Modern or the Technocratic M20 game at the moment, but would probably focus on Anarchs for Vampire and would be excluding the space travel of the Void Engineers for a Technocracy game. All that out of the way, I believe when I'd be ready to run this game I'd be able to do so on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday evenings or Thursday, Friday, or Saturday afternoons/before dusk. If this seems interesting, please let me know!
Hey Ferret! interesting post; very interested in the Dark ages Vampire game. we're actually a group of 3 experienced players who recently finished a Chicago by Night game and are looking for a new game; we posted a search on the forum for a ST a few days ago ( https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/12018439/looking-for-storyteller-v-tm-5e ) ;the post said "5th edition, but in reality we don't really mind any edition). depending on your timezone there could be a fit as well. we're based in CET / BST so European time; our preference would be Saturday (our evening) depending on your timezone that could fit as well. Fridays are possible as well; but slightly more "iffy" so we'd need to discuss. let me know if you're interested in a chat. thanks! Rogue (+2)
Modern or DA Vampire is always interesting.
Hi mate, Im a long time fan of WoD and I’d love a chance to play a Dark Age V20 game if you have space at the table. Hope to hear back from you. Best of luck with the game.
Rogue: I see you say you have three experienced players, I'd want to know about y'all's experience and what that means in your estimation. I'm also very careful about whom I let into games so would have to vet every player in your group and may not gel with every person. If you all don't mind the potential of not playing together as a group in the end then this could possibly work. I also have friends I'd be asking for whatever game I end up running so I may not have room at the table in the end for 3 people either. Time wise that'd be a game at about Noon or 1 PM start time at my time zone for European time zone evenings, which is one of the available time slots that I could do whatever game I decide on - so that would potentially work out well. Patrick & Rex: Thanks for the interest. It definitely seems so far that the Dark Ages to Modern Ages Chronicle has the most interest so far! I will keep you in mind; may I ask how much experience you have with WoD and VtM in general? I'm most likely going to be looking for experienced players because of the desire to end up in the Sabbat. The Sabbat takes good players who don't desire to turn the game into Vampire: the Massacreade after all.
I played Bloodlines back in the day, ran a Dark Ages game once upon a time, and have participated in several VtM campaigns, most of which turned out to be ill-fated. (But not all) I was actually slated to play in your last Dark Ages game, Collapsing Empires.
Interested in playing in any of the games. Haven't had a chance to play a WOD game in a while.
Hi, Newbie looking to start playing anyone help me please.
Patrick: I thought your icon looked familiar! Yeah, that game that fell through due to my living situation last year, I'd be glad to have you aboard this time around should that be what I go for next! Mark: I would require an experienced player for VtM, may I know what experience you have with VtM as a system? For CtD I don't require experience because that's just a much different system and not nearly as necessary to know older editions or lore IMO. Gary: As stated above, VtM would require an experienced player with the pitch for DA -> Modern Ages. I don't think this would be the best for you with the response given.
Ferret, thank you for your response. For us experience relates to the overall world knowledge, game system knowledge and in game lore (whatever's applicable of the wider lore in the ST's world). It doesn't explain wether someone is a "good" roleplayer that's an entirely different topic which is very subjective on whatever the definition of "good" is for a specific ST; additionally it's not guarateed that what works in one group, transfers to the next group. With regards to the 3 of us, we'd prefer to stay in one group, we just finished a 3 year campaign together and it gelled really well. so if that's off the table, we'll continue looking. if you want we can exchange info in PM and setup a discord call to discuss. best Rogue
Hi! I'd definitely be interested in playing it, been a few years since I played VTM. I used to play in a long time game, but had to step down due to real life. Both seems like a fascinating premises, the second one is a little more appealing because I know the rules of both modern VTM and dark Age VTM.
R0gue: I figure it is best y'all keep looking then. I've rarely had good experiences with players who come as package deals and don't want to risk it again. S.Dreamer: Thank you for your interest! May I ask what your experience with WoD is, since you say you've played it before? I know I'm an oldhead who loves hearing about other's investment in the franchise!
For WoD I've played Ancilla game using the Dark Ages system for about two years or so with deep plot this was between 2017-2019. I've played VTM person in my country a few one-shots. Alas, I know the this a dedicated VTM group but it's full up with a waiting list. I've played modern v20 game set in the 1970 of a girl who presents very preppy but her who family were conspiracy people who were very weird. (But surprisingly wholesome) A v20 version loosely based on Cowboy Bebop two shot. I played a gunslinger in that. It's a fun system. This has been everything I've played in the last 7 years or so.
Ferret; no worries! good luck with the game
I'd prefer a Dark Ages Sabbat game over a modern Anarch game, if that counts for anything.
S. Dreamer: Sounds great! You'd make a great addition when the game goes up and would love to have you apply. Speaking of that, if you follow this link it'll lead you to the VtM pitch. It's a custom PDF of the setting and houserules. And, to those who'd care, this one should take you to the PDF for character creation rules I'll be utilizing. As for days, I could most easily do Thursday evenings in American Central time or Saturday starting at Noon or 1pm American Central time for a more Euro-friendly game. I could probably swing Wednesday evenings my time zone in around a month or so.
Hi ferret, sorry For the delayed reply I just saw your post. I’ve played V5 and DAV20 in multiple sessions over the last few years. I won’t say I’m an expert with the rules of most Vampire systems but I do understand the basics. However, I found that WoD it more of a rules light system that places great focus on story and role play. So I’m sure what rules I don’t know right now I can learn very quickly and this should be a massive disruption to the game you wanna run. I hope the above answers your question. Hope to hear from you.
Thursday evenings would be best for me personally.
Hey there, sorry for being silent for some time - got ill at the end of this week while my schedule has changed up some. I'll have a few available times and days for the final product. I have a few more bits and bobs for set up but should be able to finish up faster than I had expected. I believe the next post should be for the game application link itself.

In a few different show term games over the past couple years. I feel fairly confident with the using system.
I have set up the landing page which can lead to the form to fill out to apply to the game. The form has the 4 available days and times in it, I settled on Saturday from 1 - 4pm as the posting time just because Roll20 demands a starting time to be seen. Check here to see the game pitch and find the form and FAQs! Thanks to everyone who showed interest!
Hey there folks, I usually give my games 24 Hours to collect applications and start getting back after that. However, I have some medical appointments and business to do the next two days and may not be getting back to players closer to Friday than today. My apologies for the languid pace if it ends that way.
I am also interested, if you are still looking
Something im wondering, will this take place before the camarilla is established?
Any mage ?
@Alexander: I have already picked the players I'll be having before the game and yes, the Dark Ages setting happens before the Camarilla/Sabbat formations. @Damon: Ummm...no? Seeing this thread shows how the game selection went.
