Custom character sheet background not showing up

Hi!

As the title states, I'm attempting to use  a custom background for the character sheets in my campaign. I'm also using a custom pic for the logo for the game. Both files are located in the same folder on my hard drive. The custom banner shows up, but the custom background doesn't show at all.

Thanks for any help or answers!

I am having a similar experience with custom template backgrounds for one of my custom sheets. The problem is not persistent across all images, but many of the template images are affected in my case.

This started on Friday and has not resolved itself. What I did to mitigate the problem for our game last night, was move the images to a different image hosting site (shutterstock instead of imgur) and it worked. It was a pain, as I had to revise the background url for 60+ templates, but it fixed the problem.

Anyway, I saw your post and wanted to let you know that you're not alone. If it is something on Roll20's end, hopefully someone will see this and fix it. I wasn't sure it was a Roll20 problem, as the symptoms pointed more to the image hosting site than Roll20, but your scenario has me second guessing that assessment.

Good luck and hopefully you get it working.

Thank you!

I just uploaded to Imgur to host and have the same issue.

Right, I migrated to Shutterstock, which is suboptimal, but definitely works.

Sorry if that was unclear.

If you post the code you are using, other people can test it or present alternatives.

I’m not getting a code, just an issue with the display. Now I’m using google photos, same result.

Hi folks, there appears to be an issue with a number of character sheets' images. I have forwarded this information to the Devs, hopefully they will be able to find the cause and fix it.

Thank you!

The Devs report the problem should be fixed. Please check to see if the character sheet is still affected.

I opened up a previously created character sheet and the background image was tiled instead of one image. I deleted that character, creatred a new one and now the background doesn't show at all again.

Other folks are reporting their images are back, so at this point please try to troubleshoot your character sheet, see if there is something on your end you can resolve.

If you are not able to resolve this on your end please file a bug report via the Help Center. Make sure you reference the recent image issue and this thread so that it gets to the correct people.

External links have been repaired in my campaigns. Thanks Gauss.

What GiG's is referring to, is what code you're using to import the image, like if you're using the CSS styling in the custom sheet template or another method. This is located under the settings wheel on your campaign homepage under Game Settings. It's down at the bottom under Character Sheet Template.

Without seeing the specific syntax you're using, we are unable to properly diagnose and troubleshoot the issue. You might consider the bug report in Help Center as Gauss suggested if it's still a problem. It's fixed in my games.

Anyway, hope that helps, good luck, and happy gaming.

I am not using css styling, I’m using the Savage Worlds sheet. I’m going to settings and using the “copy path” option from where the image is stored and pasting that into the field for custom background.

i have used the same process for the cover image. The cover image works just fine, but the background, done with the same we act procedure, does not work..

I hope that helps explain the issue.
