Please note that this campaign is meant for evil to neutral aligned characters. Heroes need not apply. The Story: Long ago, there stood a kingdom on the brink of destruction. A sorcerer of great evil overtook the land, spreading a curse of shadows through the hearts and minds of all who lived there. Robbed of their own will and desire, entire armies marched under the command of this sorcerer whose hunger for power knew no bounds. Within time their darkness would have soon razed the entire world, leaving behind nothing but smoldering darkness. Heeding the call of the people, a band of brave adventurers stepped up to the call. Together, this circle of heroes cleaved the sorcerer's soul from body, dispelling their power and casting them down into the depths below. Light returned to the land, and the newly freed kingdom rejoiced. A new age of prosperity was ushered in, and the heroes were hailed as champions of the land and people. For one thousand years, the kingdom has grown beyond the shadows of the past, and the courageous heroes' names are still sung to this day. Now, however, a new tale for the ages is being written. Beyond the gilded cities and dreams of luxury, you know hints of the truth. You know something rotten and twisted lurks just under the facade of perfection. Darkness haunts your dreams and shadows swirl at the corners of your vision. You feel something calling to you, something unspeakably powerful. It sings to you, luring you forward with promises of wealth and riches, of power unimaginable. It speaks of your greatest wishes, your greatest desires. It knows you inside and out, always knowing just how to lure you forward. Despite knowing deep down the evil this presence brings, you feel yourself keen to answer its call... It's time for a new chapter to begin. Campaign, DM, and Discord Server Information: This campaign is meant to be a short (roughly 1 month ~ 1 1/2 months in length) campaign where players are encouraged to make and play an evil aligned character. Please note that this campaign is focused on creativity and heavy roleplay, and as such murder hobos aren't quite what we're looking for. We're looking for the conniving, cunning, intelligent, and imaginative. While familiar with the gameplay, I myself am unfamiliar as a DM and am still learning the ropes. As such, players of all experience levels with DnD are welcome to apply, so long as you can be patient with a learning DM! Another, more experienced DM is available in server to help with any questions newer player may have. Should this short campaign be successful, more short term campaigns within the same world will come! This campaign will be hosted in a friendly shared Discord server! We aim to make a comfortable space for folk who are LGBTQ, neurodivergent, or otherwise walking the "odd" side of life.
