Roll20 Macros for starters and API

Overview Hello, My name is Little and I've been using Roll20 for over a year now and Im trying to get myself started with basics of using its macro system from simple dice rolls to character sheets that I wanna make using the API system as well - I know this fourm is poorly written and im not that desparate but I'd like to know how please
What game(s) are you playing, and which character sheet are you using? What do you want to do with macros or Mod (API) scripts?  FYI, if you want to use Mod scripts or custom character sheets, then the game creator needs to have a Roll20 Pro subscription - I don’t see a Pro tag next to your name so I’m just clarifying.  What do you mean that the forum is poorly written?

Hi Little, Nick's video tutorials are a great way to learn about roll20; macros: <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jM9phzrOy-4" rel="nofollow">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jM9phzrOy-4</a> API access requires a Pro level subscription to install/configure scripts as a GM/co-GM.&nbsp; Players in these games do not require a Pro sub to utilize these scripts btw.&nbsp; There are a multitude of scripts that enhance what the vtt allows by default.&nbsp; Which scripts to install really depends on what you would like to accomplish in your game.&nbsp; Most scripts come with a description of basic features and syntax required to use them, but there are often forum threads for the most active/popular scripts as well.

I'll second what vÍnce said about Nick's videos about different aspects of Roll20 or different things you can do. Backing out just a little and looking at Roll20 as a platform, if you want to understand messages, Roll20 parsing, and how scripts play into it all, I'd humbly suggest this video I just released. The video is aimed at explaining the differences between scripts and metascripts and showing the ways to use metascripts -- which is probably more than you want at this moment... however... The first parts of the video discuss messages, how Roll20 handles them, and how scripts work (generally). The video is divided into 4 parts. If you're truly new to Roll20, I would suggest watching Parts 1 and 2... which is probably about 16 minutes. Parts 3 and 4 are more specifically for metascripts, which might be something to circle back to after you get a little comfort with the way everything works.

That first part of the video is golden, and I wish I had had it available when I first started learning scripting.
With all due respect timmaugh - Even though the video vÌnce posted here gave me a few ideas, not that I dont think you video wouldn't help me(meaning I think your video might help me too like Alex's video showed me a few examples) I'd appreciate it, i really do. &lt;3
