Templates

I know there is a template for Call of Cthulhu for roll tables. Is there a preassigned one for every game is there a list somewhere when people can check it out and incorporate it into their games? (i.e. a generic template list) I am now running Elric, and I have tried to use the Call of Cthulhu template, and it doesn't work with Elric.

The vast majority of character sheets are created by the community. You can find a full list of what character sheets are available in your game settings page in the drop down where you select what character sheet to use.

The custom templates are built within the character sheets themselves, defined in them. The only template that works outside a specific character sheet is the default template.
How do i find my "template" signature for a game? I tried "Elric" for my roll table template and that didn't work.

Generally to find a template I make an attack, use a skill, etc and then go to the Chat tab and click on the chat box (where you type). Next I push the up arrow.  It will give either the command code or the template. If it is the command code then it may require more work to find the template.

If the trick above doesn't work, send the template to chat, inspect the chat and ctrl+f the term "sheet-rolltemplate" (without quotes) (or just look a few rows up - it should be there) - starting from the second result, it should start showing you the template names (at least some of them). For the Elric! sheet, the template s seem to be "roll". EDIT: corrected a few mistakes I made.

Those are good suggestions, but the guaranteed way is to go to github and look at the sheet html, and search for the term rolltemplate- Sadly, this won't work for By Roll20 sheets which aren't in the github. If it's a by roll20 sheet, either of the last two comments have great methods. Bear in mind that some sheets have more than one rolltemplate, but searching for multiple copies (in mine or Tuo's suggetsion) will find them. Also, some sheets have a page on the roll20 wiki which describes the rolltemplates available and how to use them. That's a great method for supported sheets.

&{template:callofcthulhu} This is what I have for Call of Cthulhu for setting up a template. Will my Elric! be : &{template:roll} I would also like to use this template for hit locations on elric with some changes. !rt &{template:callofcthulhu} Here is the Elric! sheet &{template:Roll} {{name=@{Shashoa Groot|character_name}}}           } } } } } } Theres alot going on in there. I would like the name of Hit Locations and the title injured area then the roll like the COC above it for a reference. What will I need to modify my roll table to say so it will work with this once its setup?
Different templates have different parameter fields that interact with the template, and I'm not sure which all are necessary for the Elric roll template, nor am I familiar with the game to figure out how it's supposed to work. But, this at least prints you the d4 roll with the right text at the top: &{template:Roll}         The sheet also seems to have a built in roll for hit locations - &{template:mjrWnd} .
Yes, I am trying to get around that at this point because there is a number value that the players will have to look up. I would say half (of the 4) and lazy and will forget and get confused closing and opening up their character sheet to see what dice roll the left arm is, head, etc. (thus the reason for the roll table) I suggested this for the sake of having a blend of the Elric! and Runequest rules. It may seem more complicated, but I know how lazy my players are and I'm trying to avoid anything that will slow combat down and have it print for all to view. I will still use it regarding their dodge values and that skill in the area having the potential to go up.

I did a copy and paste and no value came up in the print. It didn't error out either. Should I have the d4+2 roll at the end of the macro (after impale?)

I would suggest getting it working using the default rolltemplate. We don't know what other templates are supported and what keys they expect.
It should work as is, at least it does on my end - though I don't see where it would make a difference, are you by chance running the game on Jumpgate? Anyway, I tested it, tables do work in the roll field of the roll template (and you can greatly reduce the number of fields). &{template:Roll} Similarly, you can reduce the roll earlier to &{template:Roll} (and you get to add the word healing to the roll field - since it accepts text, it's no issue).
No, I have enough of a difficult time with normal roll 20. I didn't jump into a fire for the other.
