Summary: Welcome to Double Helix! This game is 18+ We are open and looking for players. Double Helix is a modern - horror/action based in a similar world to Earth as we know it now. Many events that have affected our reality have also happened in lore, including wars, notable persons, and technological developments. There are many exceptions and inclusions, but the focus for this game is the monster sighting reports that have began popping up around the world. Story- Dark and deep rooted powers have a vice over the world through the control of it's resources. A massive international acquisitions company named Big6 has been the leading superpower in the finical and commercial sectors of most major cities, only rivaled by an amount of companies and people countable on hands. That's soon to change with the introduction of a new drug developed by one of Big6's pharmaceutical arms. Distribution of the drug has been considered a complete success as the drug was marketed as volunteer vitamin, peddled by the brightest stars, strongest athletes, and most charming influencers. More and more cases of violence, rioting, and even cannibalism have been broadcast all over journalism media, causing widespread panic to everyone and isolation among many citizens that can afford to. Disappearances in the mountains, unnatural weather events, and sightings of both cryptid and mythological beasts are increasing over the cargo and convoy lines. The backways have become a hostile deathtrap for anyone not prepared to travel the empty highways. You need the best gear you can get, or whatever's lying around, as the airways are rich with stories of things that appear from the tree lines, hover over the desert, and stalk in the snow, things hungry for the flesh and bone of man. Prepare yourself with custom wheels and weapons geared towards these monsters weaknesses, find out what makes them tick and use it against them, or overwhelm them with unnecessarily large torrents of lead and steel. Hell, do all three, glassed earth is a policy and it is used. There needs to be someone to pull the trigger, a one-to-one correlation to the demons in the night. Some have come forth, some for good and others for themselves mostly, showing off strange abilities. Some say that these abilities showed up over night, others claim to have had them for as long as they can remember, and everything in between. The whispers in libraries and temples is that there's a crack in the sky somewhere that can't be seen. This bleeding scar is leaking this power, both divine and otherwise into our world. This power is mutating thing, changing them around, but it has a seemingly positive effect. A mark is left behind on those who interact with the leakage, and this mark grants indescribable power for both man and machine. The elders call it lots of things, medicine, essence, some nerds even came to using it and calling it Mana. Call it what you want, Magic has come back, and it has something to say about the way we shaped our world. It's users, the weavers of this mysterious power, is who we need to pull that trigger. Our 50. Cal Emissaries. Double Helix is a balanced Combat/RP experience with high intensity scenarios. A good frame of reference would be action movies of the 90's and 2000s. Huge guns, absurd explosions, ridiculous physics, with a focus of fun and mayhem over realism. I've been planning this game for quite some time and hope to play as soon as the holidays are over. This game is mostly homebrew, so the only real book going to be needed by players is the PH. If you would like supplemental material, all that's needed is proof that it exists in WOC supplemental material or other official guides. We can talk it out. Everything will be filtered and flavored to help keep story continuity easy to manage. There is a discord, the link of which I can provide upon approval. There will be audio recording! To explain I've prepared these reasons here. 1. I'm the worst at taking notes, like actual trash person. If you ask me to take notes, I will buy a sprite, and forgot why I walked in the bathroom. 2. Module and content modeling is going to be tested by a group of my peers, aka you, and I need to know appropriate and accurate reactions to my work. 3. If all parties consent and the final recording is what I or others consider outstanding, I will make a youtube playlist for the game. The recordings will not or ever will be published if even one person in the group does not consent. As for rules, you know the general idea, no racism, sexism, harassment, if you wouldn't do it in public, you don't do it here. The session 0 will be for anything anyone needs to address to the group, triggers, pet peeves, ect. This game is 18+, minors will be ejected and persecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
