(D&D 5E) 2 New players looking for help

Hey guys :) Me and my friend are currently looking to get into D&D. We are completely new to it and the furthest we've gotten is creating our character sheets. We need some help from some players with patience as we would like an aid in getting to learn everything there is to know! (At least the basics) We have no past experience with this but we are dedicating a lot of time to really thrive in this new environment. We are from UK looking to play around 7pm UK time.
