Hi everyone! I currently have 4 players for a homebrew D&D campaign I'm going to be running soon. I'm looking to add 1-2 more players before we start! I've been a DM for over 10 years but I've been playing regurarly for the last 5/6 years. Campaign Setting: Description: The story unfolds in a vast, ancient world filled with diverse peoples, long-forgotten magic, and lands shaped by centuries of conflict between mortal kingdoms and otherworldly powers. Towering mountain ranges, deep forests, and sprawling cities are home to cultures rich with tradition, each playing their part in a delicate balance between peace and war. Hidden beneath the surface are secrets of a bygone age—ancient relics and powerful entities that once shaped the fate of the world, now stirring once more. Type: Homebrew world, inspired by Middle-Earth & Exandria. Themes: Exploration, Mystery, Political Intrigue, Story-driven Combat, Slow Burning, Character Growth, Player-Driven Story Ruleset: 5e 2014 (with some house rules) Game Style: Tone: A mix of serious storytelling with light-hearted moments. Expect high-stakes drama, character-driven narratives, and humor to keep things balanced. Playstyle: C haracter-driven roleplay and strategic, intense combat. There will be in-depth roleplay moments, meaningful interactions, and exciting tactical encounters that challenge the group to work together. Player Backstories: Player backstories will shape the world and narrative. The story is deeply connected to each character’s past, with personal arcs playing a significant role in the overall campaign. Your backstory will drive major plot points and character growth (you do not need to worry about coming up with a backstory all on your own, I'm more than happy to work with you to come up with something awesome!). Schedule: Session Frequency: Every other Friday at 10pm BST, starting 22nd November 2024 with Session 0. Session Length: Each session will run for 3-4 hours with a 10-15 minute break in the middle. Platforms Used: Voice/Video: Discord VTT: Roll20 Other: The server has Avrae if you want to use it but you don't have to, I'm also happy to get any other Discord bots presuming they make sense! Player Expectations: Commitment: Looking for players who can commit long-term and attend most sessions. That being said I understand that life can get in the way sometimes so missing the odd session is absolutely fine, there is more to it than this but that will be discussed in Session 0! Behaviour: R espectful, fun, and collaborative. Players should enjoy deep roleplay, strategic combat, and be supportive of one another’s character arcs and moments, creating a positive and inclusive environment for everyone. You should be more interested in having a good time than "completing the game" (I once had a group ignore the story laid out in front of them and buy a bridge that crossed a river, destroy all other local bridges along the same river and then proceed to spend 5 sessions charging people to cross it, it was great!) Boundaries: The campaign may explore mature themes such as war, loss, and moral dilemmas, but will avoid explicit descriptions of gore and overly graphic content. Emotional depth and character-driven storytelling are key, with a focus on ensuring everyone’s comfort and boundaries are respected. There will be a whole section dedicated to mature and sensitive topics in Session 0. Character Creation: Level: Players will start at Level 3. Allowed Sources: All official D&D 5e content is allowed, homebrew classes/races must be approved. Backstory: You have complete control over your backstory, I'd rather change my world or add to it so it works with your backstory than try and shoehorn your backstory into what I've already got. So you can go nuts! Create NPC's, groups, towns, cities, islands (I don't think I have enough physical space on Inkarnate for an entire continent for you though!), stories etc. Application Process: How to Apply: If you're interested in joining then add me on Discord! My username is bigfudgeuk7311, we can have a quick chat (text or call) to make sure you'd be a good fit for us and that I'd be a good DM for you :) We currently have players from Norway, the US and Canada, and I'm from the UK so geographic location is not an issue as long as you can fit the schedule!
