Why so little content?

I have been using Roll20 for some years now. I'm also a subscriber. And generally I'm happy with it. What I just don't understand is why there's so little content for it? Compared to e.g. Fantasy Grounds it's abysmal how little content (beyond 5e) there is. Is it just more difficult for publishers to convert their content to Roll20 than for Fantasy Grounds. Or is Fantasy Grounds just better at getting content for their platform and Roll20 lazy? I simply don't understand it.

Hi Jacob, I'll take your word for it that FG has more content - I've never looked into it. But it might be just a matter of where creative energy goes. Roll20 only devotes itself to doing a small amount of the module content on the platform. I would say that the vast majority is from third party producers. I'm assuming that the same is true on Fantasy Grounds; it seems logical. In that case, there may be other factors: FG might offer a more lucrative deal. Or the bar for creation and selling of content might be lower, or there might be a more active sub-community of developers for systems other than D&D. It's also possible that this is due to the fact that Roll20 supports more systems, and that is where the creative energy of the community of developers and content creators goes—there are over 1300 different character sheets currently in existence on Roll20 last I counted, representing probably over a thousand different systems.
