How long to get new Game Setting changes?

I'm trying to set up token HP for new creatures dragged from the Compendium, but for some reason it isn't working. Here are my settings in the 2014 Character Sheet defaults: Here's a new creature token after saving: Bar 1 matches the creature's HP, but something's busted, and it seems like every time I try a different setting, I get a different, broken result. How do I set this up properly? My Bar 1 settings are all empty.

Hi EnderC! Can you be a bit clearer on what is busted? What results are you expecting and what are you getting? The shots you posted seem correct, assume the creature has AC 17 and 168 HP.
AC is correct, but hp is displaying in Bar 1 when it's supposed to be in Bar 3.

The section regarding bars in the Campaign Settings page in your first image only affects the Compendium entries when they first enter the game. It has no bearing on already existing tokens.  I suggest sticking with Bar 1 as HP and change the color instead as changing all HP to Bar 3 would be a major task in most adventures.

As I stated, the screenshot  is a new token being added for the first time after saving my game settings. I have never put "hp" into Bar 1's defaults. This appears to be a bug.

Well, after some testing, I have half a solution and a workaround. For the value in the bar, use hp_max instead of hp. That should populate bar three. However, it still populates bar 1. It does not seem to want to override with a blank value. This has been a problem with other settings in the past. For the bar 1 value, put 0. The defaults should look like this: When you drag in a token, hp values should be correct and on Bar 3. Bar 1 should have a "placeholder" value of 0, with no max. This means that the bars for bar 1 will not show, nad the bar can be reassigned on an ad hoc basis. It just has an initial value of 0, instead of blank. Example: Nevertheless, this remains a bug and should be reported with a  Help Center Request , probably with a reference to this thread for context and background.

I apologize for missing that statement. Just a note bar 3 needs something other than "hp" in the Campaign Settings. They should be set up as Keith outlined above, with hp_max.
