Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: New Location/Timezone: Weekly Saturdays afternoon or evening. Victoria, Australia AEDT/GMT+11 Are
you new to D&D? Can’t find a newbie friendly game to join? Want to
join an early campaign and grow as a party? Look no further! I’m a new
DM who has run the Dragons of Stormwreck Isles starter campaign for
friends. Now I want to run it for you too! This is a free campaign but I am always open to donations… and food Running the session in Roll20 with D&DBeyond characters, and Discord. (hit me up if you have questions) What am I looking for? • 3-5 players • 3-5 sessions (potential to continue with the right group) • Saturday AEDT Weekly 3hr-4hr sessions (any timezone welcome) • 18+ (for now, sorry kids) • Heavy roleplay encouraged, at least one combat encounter per session (trying to find balance) • All player experience levels welcome, just remember I’m still a newbie
About my DM style: I’m a new DM with a little
experience and a lot of study. We kick off with a session 0 where we’ll
align expectations, discuss safety tools like lines and veils, and make
sure everyone feels comfortable and ready to play. I enjoy weaving
character backstories into the plot and there are premade characters
available as a launch pad. Each character will have some level of plot
hook and quest assigned to them. If you want to create a secret for the
party to discover later, I’m willing to keep your secret while we create
some mind bendy moments for the rest of the party! When it comes to
world-building, I like to take a collaborative approach with players
contributing to the overall world building. The ruleset is 5e, with some
4e and 5.5 flavour for seasoning! Bastions really interest me and I
would like to play with these if the party is into the idea. I try to make maps or otherwise use pre made map, and tokens, for most of my campaigns. I’m
big on following the rule of cool and encourage players to get creative
and come up with fun, wild ideas. If you want to destroy your enemies
by black bagging them with your bag of holding and sending their head to
the astral plain… Roll me a strength check baby! About the Campaign: Setting Highlights: The
rugged Stormwreck Isle is steeped in ancient dragon lore. Its volatile
weather, treacherous landscapes, and mysterious ruins create an
adventure filled with exploration, danger, and a touch of the unknown. Campaign Themes: • Explore and discover hidden truths about the island and its ancient history. • Navigate the fine line between conflict and peace in a land teetering on the brink. • Solve mysteries, uncover secrets, and untangle the motivations of warring factions. Tone: The
tone of "Dragons of Stormwreck Isle" is a mix of high fantasy and
mystery. While there are threats to be faced, much of the adventure
revolves around exploration, investigation, and unravelling the island’s
secrets, rather than constant combat. The module encourages
role-playing and decision-making, and the choices players make will
influence how certain aspects of the story play out. Overall, it’s a
great starting point for new players or groups looking for an adventure
that blends dragon-themed lore, exploration, and mystery, while being
accessible for those new to Dungeons & Dragons or looking for a more
narrative-driven experience. A little about me: • 38-year-old Australian • queer friendly • English speaking • he/him • keen for passionate storytelling and creating fun, immersive games for my players. • already a forever DM • Lifetime video gamer, board games most of my adult life.
Currently the party is 2 players and DM. Drop me a PM or comment below if you have any questions, I’ll have some of my own ready for you too!
