I sent u a dm
Hey everyone! I’m one of the players I’d be happy to awnser questions too just comment or send me a dm! We are a friendly bunch and look forward to finding new creative people to play with!
1. Who are you Hi, I'm Nick (he/him!) I'm a 32-year-old Canadian guy who loves fantasy, roleplaying, and all the usual suspects when it comes to nerdy pursuits. I enjoy getting deeply invested in a story with fascinating characters and the freedom in getting to invent characters to be a part of those stories. 2. What sort of character you would like to play I'm a big fan of doing non-standard characters. Two of my favorite characters I've portrayed were an orc with a penchant for spellcasting who abhorred violence and a disinterested and clueless paladin. In terms of character classes, I've never actually played a 5e rogue or bard beyond planning ones out for campaigns that never happened so I think they might be fun, but otherwise I'm willing to try anything! 3. Why you want to join the campaign Honestly, it's been a year and a half since I last did any real roleplaying and I miss it, I love immersing myself in a longer campaign with characters that build connections with the world and each other and would love to experience that again. 4. experience with dnd/ rpg's I've been doing tabletop roleplaying for almost 15 years, I started with a 3.5e oneshot with a bunch of friends from a forum I was a member of back in high school and fell in love with it. Since then most of my time has been spent as the DM for various games run primarily for friends though I have played in two separate 5e campaigns before. The first I only stuck around for a couple of months because the game really wasn't for me, it was a lot more combat-focused than I like so I found myself not really enjoying myself. My next group was a much longer campaign that lasted about two years before we reached a natural conclusion, which let me move into the DM seat where I ran my own campaign in a homebrew setting for about a year and a half before complications due to the pandemic broke up the band as it were. I've done some additional smaller-scale games with friends since then but no campaign that lasted longer than a few months. If I sound like a good fit for your game I'd love to join up!
Thank you for applying! We will leave the advert up for just over a week and then sort through the applicants and reply to everyone.
1. Who Are You: Hello, I am Sparrow, a Canadian artist (she/her) and fantasy nerd. I am an avid reader, lover of lore, taker of exhaustive notes while playing and am always willing to RP characters.  I am also a game geek with a habit of being a completionist when it comes to achievements, meaning I have run certain games through nightmare mode if the achievement called for it (I say this as a nerdy testament to my dedication and commitment, lol). I love to create character portraits as part of the character creation process as well. 2. What sort of character you would like to play: I am constantly creating new characters and love a backstory, so I am open to playing anything that might contribute to overall party balance. I do have a drow rogue thief/charlatan (male) that hasn't seen much play time yet (the party split apart after a couple sessions) as well as a forest gnome cleric with severe pollen allergies. I am interested in trying out the druid class as it seems to offer some unique character development options (leaning towards Circle of the Moon), and I have a soft spot for warlock blends (I have an idea for a changeling sorcerer/warlock) but again, as someone who loves the process of character creation, I am pretty open to suggestions as well. 3. Why You Want to Join the Campaign: Your summary of what your group offers sounds like what I am looking for, and have been looking for with various degrees of success, for years. The player characters you have introduced sound like such an interesting and creative blend and wait...backstory matters?! I love it. I have been in too many sessions where a group is focused on getting from point A to B as quickly as possible with as much loot as possible and it feels like the true narrative potential of the game is being lost. Your game sounds different in the best way. 4. Experience with Dnd/RPGs: My experience thus far has all been with 5E with a one-shot using 5.5 rules and updates. Classes played: warlock, bard, cleric, barbarian, sorcerer.  I have been part of a two-year 5E homebrew campaign that has since come to a close and I currently play online Tuesday evenings, working through Tales from the Yawning Portal. My character there is a tiefling bard who decided he had to trace his ancestry back to the point at which his bloodline merged with the demonic. The original demon who made a pact with his great great great (and so on) grandmother found him interesting enough that she became his patron and he is now a warlock/bard multiclass. I have also done several one-shots and a few modules of Keys from the Golden Vault. As an artist, I listen to/watch Dnd live play streams while I work and have absorbed a lot of information that way as well. In terms of online play, I am very used to Dnd Beyond and Roll20 and use Beyond20 as my link between the two. I have used the charactermancer in Roll20 as well. You can find me on Discord as Sparrow. If you think I might fit into your party dynamics, I look forward to hearing from you. Have a great day!
