[D&D5E] Using TokenMod to apply a quick effect over a token

Hello - is it possible to use TokenMod to apply one of the new effects over a token, ie Fire Glow, for a brief moment? I feel it would be quite an interesting addition to certain circumstances, say swapping styles as Dante from Devil May Cry, as even in the games (notably DMC 4 and 5) it showcases a colorful flash as you switch styles. I think it would be quite cool if this were to be possible. It would also be cool too since similarly, when using tokenflip to flip the token to an image of the character entering a state of DT, one of the effects could play over that as well. Is this something that TokenMod has the ability to do?

Not TokenMod, but there are other scripts that can create FX on a token. You can also just use the /fx command for some cases.

When you are able to use the /fx command like The Aaron said --- that's something you can put into a regular Roll20 macro without the API scripts. I have it on my Talking macros, so when the Player uses my "Talk" button to have their character say something in the text chat, the character's icon has a pink nova glow fx. I also have it in my "Kill / dead" macro that puts a big red X symbol, and makes that token spurt blood fx.
Huh, that's actually really cool, thank you. It lasts for about as long as I'd want it to as well, which is perfect. (For others looking, in chat run "/fx glow-fire <insert token_id here>", or if in a character macro, simply "/fx glow-fire" I think using Beam Glow broke my vtt lol, everytime I click it pings me and I can't touch my tokens enough to move them, oops Is there a way to extend its duration, or does that require API's at that point?

Extending duration would require an API script.
