About the adventure Prepare for a fun yet deadly one-shot adventure, where we’ll be using some of the hardcore rules and other mechanics out there to crank up the challenge. What does that mean? In short: survival won’t come easy. For a deeper explanation, check out the character creation details.
The premise is “The Death House,” the chilling introduction to the Curse of Strahd campaign. You and your fellow adventurers have been ensnared by the mysterious mists, and now you must fight to escape with your lives.
This game is packed with horror and intrigue, striking a perfect balance between roleplay and combat. Will you have what it takes to survive, or will the Death House claim another victim? Come test your luck and see if you can be the one who makes it out alive.

However, since this is a one-shot using modified hardcore rules, don’t get too attached to your character, you might not make it out of the house alive.
Here are the hardcore rules we’ll be playing with: 3d6 Down the Line: Abilities are rolled using 3d6 in order, from Strength to Charisma. Random Backgrounds: Your background will be rolled randomly. Roll for Starting Gold: Instead of starting equipment, you’ll roll for your gold and purchase gear accordingly. Exhaustion: If you’re reduced to 0 HP and brought back, you gain 1 level of exhaustion. Sanity Mechanics: Inspired by Call of Cthulhu, when your mind is pushed to the brink, you’ll roll to maintain your sanity. On a failure, your character gains an insanity effect. Players can expect Combat/Tactics: Medium Roleplay: Medium Puzzles: Low Experience level Open to all DM me for more info or join the Discord Server (I’ll be hosting on the server I normally use for Curse of Strahd, so not everyone there will be joining this one-shot)
