I've never played mage the ascension but I love the lore. I don't mind playing anyone although I'd perfer not playing a technocrats. Now, pathfinder oh gash I love that universe I created a whole character for that and I've never use him! I'd like to use him actually now because I've been saving him for years. It's a custom race, it's a bit like Victor Frankenstein Monsters, created by Haagenti, I can hear Haagenti whisper into my ear, so if a GM wants a weapon just whisper into my ear something Haagenti would say and I'd do it.
