Malwarebytes flagging a Firebase service

I've recently encountered an issue where my internet addon antivirus (in this case Malwarebytes) has detected many instances of the same service that it has flagged as malware while trying to boot up a specific game on the website. This leads to the game never loading up, while the instances of the "malware" keep piling up in the antivirus dashboard.

From what I've checked, this doesn't happen all the time, but only around evening hours.

I was also unable to replicate it on any browser other than Firefox.

Hi there! Thanks for bringing this up, this isn’t the first report we’ve gotten of this. It looks like Malwarebytes is flagging false positives. Could you let us know which games in particular this is? I’m wondering if it’s a particular add on or something like that which might be causing the false positive.

Greetings!

I'm the GM of the game which Crystality is currently referring to. We are using the D&D 5e 2014 system, and at present, we are not using any add-ons in our current game (at least for now). I've spoken with my friend, who is a programmer, and he mentioned that Firebase may have encountered some issues while connecting the players together, and thus Malwarebytes is flagging it as "malware." It's just a theory, though. Additionally, the whole issue magically resolved itself after I made a copy of the existing game and we started playing on the said copy; there were no more errors from Malwarebytes for Crystality.

Hope I helped.

Sincerely, Ivobeowulf.
