Tomb of Annihilation - Chult (Player) Map Unusable

I am about to begin a Tomb of Annihilation campaign, using the Roll20 marketplace module, and the Chult player map that has tons of yellow hexes to cover unexplored areas is essentially unusable. I have a very powerful system, and it takes easily 3-4 minutes to load everything, and often crashes. Has anyone figured out how to get this map functioning smoothly, and still allowing for removing cells as players explore? The map itself seems enormous, so I know it could be shrunk, just not sure how to also shrink the cells. Any tips would be appreciated!

Hi Arran, is your game on Jumpgate (the new Roll20 tabletop), or the classic Roll20 ?  I'd like to test and try to replicate the issue, and try to come up with a solution. Initially my feeling is, I'd rather find a solution that the Page doesn't lag, rather than going through trying to shrink the page size manually. Since it is a Roll20 Marketplace Module that's hosted on Roll20 servers, I would expect it to run smoothly on your install.

The lag isn't from the Size of the map (which is around 82x104). The lag is coming more from the large number quantity of Tokens (graphic objects) on the page, which is a bunch of yellow hexes.  Looking into a fix for this, depends on whether you want to use Jumpgate or classic Roll20, and then some other questions for troubleshooting this
You could try copying the map layer to a new map and then just use fog of war to hide the unexplored areas.  Some work to setup and a little clunkier to reveal areas, but it should load much faster.
