Can I Close Handouts With Links to New Ones?

Is it possible to close handouts when linking to a new handout? I'm currently trying to create a book with 3 pages for my players. Each page is a graphic on a separate handout. The Cover handout is accessed from the players inventory, while the pages are archived. The idea is to have a link that takes the player from one page to the next as if they are turning the pages. The problem I am having is every handout stays opened, and therefore a "Back" link won't work unless the handout is manually closed. Is there a way to close the pages to keep only one handout active on a screen at once? I feel like I've seen a solution to this problem before from a large macro menu, but I can't find the forum for it.

Long ago when editing the link there used to be a checkmark that controlled where the handout opened, but it appears to have been removed.
