D&D 2024 Monster Manual Token and Stat blocks are disappointing

TLDR: This book is forcing me to spend limited time and storage space to fix issues that shouldn't happen with paid 42 CAD (29 USD) content.

Got the new revision of the D&D MM and I'm pretty disappointed over the quality and effort put into the statblocks and tokens throughout the content expansion. Many of the statblocks have issues that require time from the DM (me) to fix such as some abilities rolling damage in the ability description when used, spellcaster box not being enabled on spellcaster statblocks (and as such not configured to their DC and bonuses), or missing bonus actions, and tokens being replaced with name tokens when suitable art is available for the the token throughout the book.

Here are some examples of issues I have with the statblocks and tokens, these issues are spread through a lot of the creatures. Any images required will be edited to remove any text not relevant to the issues of quality. The sheets I'm using are the D&D 5E 2024 sheets by Roll20 if that is relevant in anyway.

Extra damage dice text example

Bandit Deciever Blinding Flash action has extra damage dice when it is not necessary as there is already a damage roll function already built into the NPC statblock. Here is an example of what I mean for those not knowledgeable on what I'm talking about.

In compendium/stat-block

Should be instead

Spellcaster creatures lacking the spellcaster trait example

All creatures that have the spellcasting action or any innate spells do not have the Spellcasting NPC trait enabled for their stat sheet, they also lack the settings to match what the spellcasting action specifies such as DC, Attack Modifier, and Spellcasting Ability.

Bandit Deceiver for example

after enabling the spellcasting NPC trait

Tokens unused and duplicates examples

Bandit Captain has the same token as Bandit Crime Lord, despite the fact that there are four usable figures in the showcase art, the figure behind the Bandit Deceiver isn't used at all for the Captain or Crime Lord instead resulting in a duplicate token between the two statblocks.

The only two cultist statblocks that have tokens are the Death Cultist and the Elemental Cultist, all other cultists have no tokens, despite usable figures being available for the tokens. Aberration Cultist should be using the figure fighting the Elemental Cultist in their showcase art. Cultist and Cultist Fanatic have all the background cultists used in the Death Cultist Showcase available for use as tokens, leaving the the tiefling figure for Fiend Cultist and the skull wearing figure for the Cultist Hierophant. The fact that only two of the cultists actually got tokens is crazy.

Other creatures missing tokens despite art being available are Hobgoblin Warrior, Hobgoblin Warlord.

If a Roll20 moderator pass this along to the right people or tell me what I should submit it as under bug report that would be much appreciated.

Eek.

If you go to submit that as a Bug Report on the Help Center, certainly break it out into 3 different reports, in the categories you included above (extra damage dice, spellcaster trait, and missing tokens that have available art.

I'm also disappointed with the new Monster Manual statblocks. I didn't even notice some of what you've listed here, but my main concern regards the "stat block" option when you try to manage the monster sheet. As far as I'm aware, if you're using the "stat block" variant, which is the least clutter-y of the three options IMO, it doesn't have anywhere where you can easily edit stats, equipment, etc., without switching back to a previous sheet.

Additionally, the sorting of features being alphabetically is really awkward. For creatures that have a lot of text, having to scroll down in the middle to finally see that they have multiattack, when old statblocks would just say that it did at the top, is not something that DMs should have to sit there and look for. We're paying to have this work be easier for us, not harder.
