Hi toby! When a game book is converted for Roll20, it is converted into a form that is designed to be useful within the context of the Virtual Tabletop. Spells and monsters for instance are converted into forms that can be dragged and dropped into character sheets. All of the content is still there, all the words and all the art, but it is not designed like an ebook or pdf, and there is no way to convert. If you go to the compendium book index and click on one of the books, that is the closest you will get to a book-reading experience, but eventually you will run into lists, rather than pages.
