Unable to upload some MP4 file

April 03 (3 months ago)
Uploading 5 mp4 files

3 map mp4 between 1.5-3MB - all passed
1 animated spell mp4 2.3MB - passed
1 background scene mp4 6.7MB - failed

compressed that file down to 5.something - failed. compressed it more to 2.3MB - fail

the name of that file is 1 word while the others were much longer.

Not sure why this particular file keeps failing to upload.

Are you uploading under Classic or Jumpgate?
If under Classic, Jumpgate might process it better, and you can always drag a processed uploaded graphic into any game.

I really doubt it's the file-name.

It's probably more something to do with the "encoding" of the original mp4, and/or something on Roll20's end with transcoding that file.

Surely you're in Jumpgate, tell us if you're not, and try it in Jumpgate (and after the upload finishes transcoding you can go back to a Classic Roll20 table and use the asset from your art library).

Your best route from here is probably send it to Roll20 Help Center --- that way you can attach your mp4 file and Roll20 Team could potentially take a look at your file and test it on their end.

Just wondering if you are still having this issue? I am also having this issue. The support team did their best to help but told me that it had to be handed over to the DEV's.

covert the file to webm

April 11 (3 months ago)

Yeah that is what I have to do. Only thing is that when you convert the file size increases and sucks up your 100mb max. quickly  lol
