The group spent the week in town, getting acquainted with the villagers. They attempted again to ask the hunter's wife about where they might find him, but she displayed bizarre behavior by hiding in her house and refusing to open the door and talk. The group also introduced themselves to the Sheriff who promptly recognized an opportunity to make some quick cash by charging a tax upon the no-good adventurers; rarely had any ever made the village their home for longer than a few days. After busying themselves in town, the group finally departed for the island early in the morning a week after their last adventure, and arrived at the decrepit palace in the mountains once more. This time, a light was spotted in the northern tower, which they ignored. The group once again ascended the wall of southern tower using skill and rope, and found the tower mostly empty. Deeper down the stairwell they went to ensure it was safe before attempting (again) to open the locked iron door which was also wrapped in chains. At the landing below the locked door, Kratun attempted to open the door to the goblin's mud pit when he was surprised by an equally surprised army of undead, lead by a fearsome necromancer. Due to the quick thinking actions of the party, they were able to push the skeletons back and shut the door, casting hold portal to provide momentary respite. Instead of retreating, the group decided to investigate further down the stairwell of the tower and found that the staircase descended into the dark depths of water, as if the tower had been flooded. Out of these depths rose a singular massive shelled crab, and the party fled back up the stairwell to the upper floors, where they decided to finally engage it. After a brief battle, the crab was slain, but in the tower below they heard the undead breaking through the doorway. Once again, instead of retreating, the group quickly descended and threw fire and oil to block the undead from passing through the doorway; trapping two skeletons who quickly fell to the flames. Before the flames expired, Kratun ran a piece of rope across the room, tying it to a pair of hastily nailed spikes just as the undead again streamed into the room. The trap was wildly successful, and the undead fell onto each other as they blindly walked forward, while a few were able to make it past to engage Silo, Kratun, and his hireling. Silo, quickly fell to a lucky blow, and the group struggled against the mighty spells of the necromancer who stood by and slung spell after spell upon the group. Chen fell to a group of skeletons rushing up the staircase, and the remaining group was forced to retreat and flee the tower, leaving the unconscious Silo and a cornered Kratun behind. The worn and beaten group of adventurers arrived back in Stilt Town to drown their sorrows.
